The older episodes weren't that great, but after the first few weeks I have found it too be quite entertaining...mind you, the late-night reruns are a poor surrogate for reruns of Voyager, but I'll live.

I don't like the show.  First, I dislike the animation, it's very drab.  Second, I don't care for the characters.  They're not very likable to me for some reason.  I also wonder how much gold the writers can mine out of stories involving Hank being upset at some activity of Bobby's that he considers non-manly.

I've always liked this show... their humor can get me laughing more often than not.  Much better than the shit that they call new simpsons episodes or 'the pitts' or 'oliver beene'... I'll admit some episodes are sorta "dry", but all in all, the show's still good in my opinion.

i disliked it at first, then started enjoying it.  now i just watch to see hank's friends.  the show as a whole is kinda dull. bobby was much funnier before the feminine turn.

I have only ever seen 2 episodes of it but I though it kinda sucked. There is nothing worse than a show that thinks it's funny when it's not.

OK +1. Has it's share of moments, but I hardly ever watch it anymore because, in all honesty, Peggy just annoys the hell out of me. So much so that I've changed the channel when she's come on screen before.

How is this show even still on?  Does anyone know a person IRL who's all "I gotta get home now, just to make it for King of the Hill?"  No.  The show seems to survive with no fanbase.

I loathe this show.

Why? [Bea Arthur]Why?[/Bea Arthur]  Because I live in Texas, that's why.  This show utilizes every freaking stereotype about this state.  Admittedly, a lot of them are true, but it's annoying to meet people from out of state who think everyone is trailer trash, drunk, stupid, or a paranoid gun nut.  Honestly, between this show and George W's affected cowboy schtick (You're from Maine, you jackass!  Get over it!) I'm surprised other Americans have any respect left at all for the Lone Star State.

A typical conversation between me and, say, a Californian
Californian: Where you from, dawg?
Me: Arlington Texas
Californian: No way, dude!  Isn't that where King of the Hill is?
Me:*pulls out shotgun, blasts his head off* No, dickweed, that's Arlen.  It's not even a real city.

Then again, it's usually either that or a blank stare until I explain "it's near Dallas."  I freaking hate Dallas, too.  They get all the attention.

Also, except for Boomhauer and sometimes Dale, the characters have zero personality and just aren't funny.  Alright, the Khans are pretty good, but only because of Lauren Tom's vocal skills.

See N-O-R? You just had to shoot someone. You couldn't overcome your Texan blood.  :p

King of the Hill... I don't exactly hate it, but I've no real affection for it either. I've not watched it regularly for years. I've caught the odd episode, which were amusing, if not hilarious, but there's nothing in the show that would inpsire demented cartoon obsession, like a few other shows have.
Basically, I don't really try to watch it, but I usually don't mind if I do.

The show is more character-based. To begin to find it funny, you have to see a few episodes & get to know the characters first. I didn't like it at first, but once I got to know the characters & learn the running gags, I began to find it really funny.

However, it's a very different kind of humour from the type seen in Futurama, so I'm not surprised that so many people here don't like it. Still, I'm voting for option 1.  :)

I think I watched an episode once...didn't care for it too much. It was the same ol' humour you can find it most shows of that nature..there nothing really original I saw in it.

I think because it's animated people expect it to be fast paced like the Simpsons and they lose patience with it when they don't see an obvious joke every 5 seconds.

King of the hill is great. Even if the comedy isn't as fast paced as Futurama there are still plenty of great jokes in there. Also many funny funny funny characters. Like boomhauer, thats a funny character.

Boomhauer: "Y'all dang y'al meglomart go y'all dang y'all bang man."
Telephone operator: "Sir, I can't understand what you're saying, could you say it a little slower."
Boomhauer: "Y'all....dang Y'all....Meglomart go....Y'all...dang y'all...bang...y'all."

There are some good episodes, usually ones where Dale is central or has a real good sub-story. Most of them aren't good, however.

Oh my God, King of the Hill... What a drab, boring show this is. Animation is just wasted on this show, the characters are so lifeless, both vocal wise and bodily wise, and the show itself isn't really that funny. Mike Judge deserts Beavis and Butthead for this. At least with Beavis and Butthead, that show was funny because it knew it was stupid. If you're concious of your shortcomings and poke fun at them, then that's acceptable. In fact, it's more than acceptable. It's adequately satisfactory. But I don't think Judge has a clue how boring KOTH is. Yet it survives, and the upbeat fun and exciting Futurama is gone. What an age we live in, folks.

Disagreed. You don't have to watch the show more than once to get to know the characters and running gags, because they are all obvious after watching just one episode. After that, it's the same jokes over and over again. Boomhauer can't talk. Dale is a gun-toting conspiracy nut. Bobby's a faggot. Whoop-de-doo, that's so freaking funny.

When I first saw King of the Hill, I respected it for all the reasons people are stating here. It's good to see a slower-paced primetime cartoon, that focuses on characters instead of gags. But the characters just aren't good enough to keep the laughs coming past a handful of episodes.

Yea, King of the Hill just isn't as funny as other great animated shows FOX has or had with Futurama/Family Guy. Sometimes I even wonder how the show stays on the network. As you can tell I'm not a big fan.

I think its great. The fact that the writers can make interesting stories with a completely boring main character is great. The whole family is pretty dull which makes it so good. His friends are really funny and i think they make the show. But the fact situations can be so normal, mundane and boring but at the same time be funny and interesting is brilliant - a bit like 'The Office' in that sense. Great show, although i havent seen very many of them.

The system must be corrupt, or republican (same thing really.)

I voted that i liked the show, it's very funny, and creative, they have great writers.  Those of you who said they hate the show, must not have given it a fair chance, what are you, FOX?

I hate this utterly dull show.

When futurama was on at about 2 in the morning, there was a double bill of KOTH just before it.

I kept falling asleep during KOTH and missing futurama.
