Remember, Faze. The moment you start to like a character, that's when the sand in their hourglass begins to flow. By the end of the books, I fully expect 90% of the cast to have died.

Due to the mixing up of stuff in series 3(slash)4 compared to the chronology of the books I'm in an odd position now, just starting the 4th or 3rd and a halfth book depending how you look at it. There's some things that I'm spoiling by watching the show and some things I'm spoiling by reading the book. Strange times.

It'll be that old blind Targaryen guy alone on the wall in the last scene shouting "hello, hello?!"
Then he dies because he can't see shit...

So tempted to click that but thank you for the book spoiler warning!
The fight seemed to overshadow a lot in that episode, Sansa becoming awesome, Arya giggling was great, Ramsay "Bolton", that boy should not be encouraged!

For those of us watching without HBO, is the quality of the last few episodes just fuzzy/pixelated in a few places for everyone? :(

Edit this was a bit of lol (youtube rant):

It's funny watching reaction videos of people who don't seem to see the last bit of the latest episode coming even a tiny bit until it's immediately upon them.

It's pretty obvious Oberyn is going to lose at the beginning of the fight when he states he is going to make Gregane confess before he kills him. And even if you couldn't tell at that point, then at least when he's walking around his body taunting him...what else could possibly happen?

It also seems weird that so many people seem to accept this as the demise of Tyrion. I won't be surprised if Tyrion dies at some point, but this seems like a lot of stress to put us through for him to not wriggle his way out of it somehow at the end. When Martin wants to shock us with a death, usually he does it with almost no warning, like the Red Wedding...he doesn't toy with us like this. I mean, I guess that's exactly what he did with Ned, but I can't quite see him mimicking himself that closely with Tyrion. That would be disappointing.

Book spoilers. Big ones. Don't click unless you really want to know what happens to each of the Lannisters.

Naturally, these events will be a complete shock to the people who only watch the show, and I'm guessing that a huge number of people will miss the subtle telegraphy which the show uses to tell you what's going to happen in an episode. Which will mean many more shocked reactions.

Bah. It was a gigantic tease, that's what it was. I know what's going to happen, and I want to see what happens next in King's Landing happen. It's long overdue at this point!

Actually, I'm looking forward to the end of the third book.  But yeah ep9 was a lot of filler... I think blackwater bay was a better episode, but to be honest, I like switching between narrative perspectives probably because I have add or something.

@Faze

Ep10 should be totally awesome and off the chain though.

Coulda lived without that last "Yew no nufin, Jen Snuh", but otherwise the latest episode was handled alright. When it got around to the end of the battle I was thinking I was only halfway through, and ready to see what's what in King's Landing when the credits started to roll. How they managed that is admirable.

After all the build up with Tyrion's trial that portion felt rather rushed. I guess the whole thing is so dense with characters and plots now that there's really no way to produce a truly satisfying season finale. But they did very well and the changes from the books were all perfectly acceptable in the context of making good TV, but that episode needed to be longer or the previous one needed to be not Snow-centric.

That being said, it was a great series. Loved it.

It is not Game of Thrones unless someone dies.

But you can expect any honourable and/or cocky character to be killed off eventually.  When we first meet Prince Oberyn, I remember thinking; 'okay, how long is this guy going to last?'

He had the situation sense of Viserys.  You cannot get everything you want, sometimes you are better off alive.
