The worst movies ever made are ones that try to spoof a genre.  Some are all right (I thought Airplane was ok), but some others are truly terrible.  Scary Movie, for example.  I seriously don't know what I was thinking.  It didn't really appeal to me, but I went to see it anyways because my younger brother begged me to take him.  If it had just been me alone, I would've walked out.  Not because I found the gross-out humor offensive, it just wasn't funny.  Then they actually made a sequel...

Another movie that goes on my all-time worst list is Mafia.  Good thing that was just a rented one, so I didn't waste $5 that time.

There was this TV show in a local network called Svengoolie, AKA Rich Koz. He's like this vampire/Beetlejuice guy, and in every show he hosts a feature movie which is always some cheesy horror/sci-fi flick. While the movie runs, canned voices and sound fx are added purposely by Svengoolie to liven up the film. For example, the theme of M*A*S*H plays in a scene where army helicopters attack the son of Godzilla.

Do you mean Godzilla 2000?

Or that awful American Godzilla?

Because I have to agree if you meant the latter.

Yeah, the one with Matthew Broderick and Hank Azaria. I thought it came out in 2000 (hence the typo in year), but I guess not. Awful piece of cinema that was.

Slightly OT: I haven't heard anything definite yet, but Sony is considering releasing Godzilla-Mothra-King Ghidorah: Daikaiju Soukougeki in the US. By the director of the recent Gamera trilogy, it will knock almost any Godzilla-fan's socks off. (WARNING: Link contains spoilers.)

Yeah, but I put the English names up for the benefit of us all. Mothra would be "Mosura" and my man K-Ghiddy would be "Kingu Ghidora." (Baragon, the floppy-eared monster from Frankenstein Conquers The World and Destroy All Monsters rounds out the monster cast, but they left his name out of the title.)

Oh! Where do I start...

A.I: I anticipated this film to the extreme. It was a heartwarming tear jerker that ended in the worst possible way ever that left me thinking "Why the hell did I pay Lt4.50 for that?

The Blair Witch Project: I went to be scared out of my wits when all I got was a meagre gasp. I actually wanted them to die in the forest, it was so bad, and the stoned guy behind me even hated it.

Fight Club: Dont even get me started....

Just for the hell of it, these are the lyrics of the theme song of a perfectly awful Italian Star Trek ripoff called Beast In Space.

NOTE: The lyrics, like the movie's credits, are in English; however, the singers (who sound like Italy's answer to the BeeGees on 'ludes) don't speak English. Every "o" is pronounced "long," as in "d'oh!"--and are marked thoroughout the lyrics here as "ô" (...although that's NOT the correct symbol. So "nôt" is pronounced here like "note." The correct symbol is apparently not available in my character map.)

Also, "inhospitable" is pronounced "in-hôs-pi-table," sort of like the Knights of Camelot singing in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The music is droning synthesizer crap, naturally a little more Europey than, say, the soundtrack of Space Munity.

We are nôt alône, here in space,
Every day...new planets.
We are nôt alône, here in space,
Every day...new life.
Every day, every day, amazing flights
And angels, in shôcking spaceships!
We are nôt alône, here in space,
Because,
Here in space, we have brôthers.

Every day, every day, gô far away,
To côlônize in-hôs-pi-table wôrlds,
We are nôt alône, here in space,
Because,
Here in space, we have brôthers.

We are nôt alône, here in space,
Every day...new UFÔs.
We are nôt alône, here in space,
Every day...new dangers.
Every day, every day, new thing can bring
Computers and superhuman men!
We are nôt alône, here in space,
Because,
Here in space, we have brôthers.

I have a 3MB Real file of the song if anyone wants to experience the horror for themselves.

It's not often you get to see Luke Skywalker stuff a gun barrel in his own mouth, or Kirstie Alley gut herself with a scalpel, and Michael Pàre get blowed up real good before the credits even get started! Those pluses aside, however, the highlight of groaning stupidity in this piece of sadistic junk (the who-asked-for-it John Carpenter remake, not the original classic) is the fact that the wall clock, and the clock in Christopher Reeve's bag, are mysteriously synchronized to the microsecond.

The Blair Witch was pretty god damn crap! Everyone was hyping it up about how it was the scariest film ever made and that when it was first shown in America, people were being taken out of the cinema crying and being hysterical???  :hmpf: I never went to see it at the cinema beacuse its not my sort of thing but It was on one of the movie channels on Sky a while back so I decided to watch it and it was soooooo boring and it never made me jump, or surprised me or made me scared at all. It was TRASH!! I switced it off in the end because I was practically falling asleep. I hate it when films get hyped up and they're never as good as they say they are when you eventually get to see them

Yeah. I tried to admire Blair Witch for its original premise, but the movie was pretty sucky.

Also, I hated having to explain to people that the movie was fictional. Stupid people.

And I don't see what's so admirable about their internet campaign. So they blatantly lied about how scary their movie was...wow, what a bunch of inovators.
