Sure, why not.

@Books. Yes, I saw Jackass 3D. It was dumb and gross and greatly entertaining.

As said in the previous thread, saw the Tron: Legacy trailer in 3D. All the real world stuff is in 2D which I think is kinda cool. The disc fight looked the coolest.

Nice thread title.

I'm also looking forward to this film as well.  I'm interested to see how the digital 20 year age reduction on Jeff Bridges looks.

On a bizarre note: I spoke with one of my screenwriter buddies, and he told me he just edited a script that is a sequel to "The Big Lebowski"; I had to restrain myself from reaching through the phone & throtling him.  I know Hollywood ran out of ideas decades ago, but C'MON...  :nono:

The Big Lebowski is the rare example of a hollywood film that got it right.  Not a typical hollywood mass produced by the numbers picture, but, because the Coen's were involved from the beginning, a highly original & Iconoclastic film.

Alien invasion movie Skyline looks interesting.

Third Transformers movie will be called Dark of the Moon, which sounds abundantly gay.

Stephen Fry will be in Sherlock Holmes 2, as Holmes' elder brother Mycroft. Awesome.

Comicbook Cowboy Ninja Viking is being developed as a film by the writers of Zombieland. I haven't read it, but from the title I'd say it's the greatest thing in the world.

Apollo 18 (one of the cancelled moon-shots), is a film in development which will be in the documentary-style about a secret moon mission which reveals disturbing evidence of alien life. Sounds interesting.

The next James Bond film isn't going to come out til November 2012 now because of MGM's bankruptcy and all the legal tangles that emerged because of it. Poo!

Finally a sequel is being made to the brilliantly atmospheric Silent Hill movie. However Silent Hill: Revelation is unfortunately going to be on the 3D gimmick bandwagon, so it's effectively ruined.

Keanu Reeves says the Cowboy Bebop movie is now unlikely, which should come as a relief to many. He has hinted at the possibility of a third Bill & Ted movie though.

James Franco said recently that Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg might be making a sequel to Pineapple Express, and that it would be a crossover with Superbad. That would be awesome if true.

Natalie Portman is at the top of the list to star in the upcoming Alien prequel.

Ivan Reitman will direct Ghostbusters 3.

Sequels nobody wanted: xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and Underworld 4. Destined to be shit.

Inexplicably, there's a prequel to 300 in the works, called Xerxes.

There is also a District 9 sequel being kicked about. Ostensibly called District 10.

Of your entire review, I call "Bad Coldy!" on your classification of Underworld 4 as a sequel no one wanted.  Since Kate Beckinsale is destined to be the future Mrs. Seattlejohn01, it'd be great to see her running around in skin tight leather or nothing at all; your pick...

Ivan Reitman will direct Ghostbusters 3.

That film is going to disappoint.  Don't get your hopes up!

Inexplicably, there's a prequel to 300 in the works, called Xerxes.

And all know how prequels turn out, right?  Also, shouldn't it be called 299, as by the logic of the following:

There is also a District 9 sequel being kicked about. Ostensibly called District 10.

Almost this entire page is filled with discussions of prequels & sequels.  One of these days, someone in hollywood will write an original script like The Big Lebowski... and the studio suits won't greenlight it because it's not guaranteed to make elevendy jillion dollars.

Once I saw Turk in the trailer, I no longer took the movie seriously. He is screwed as an actor if he thinks he can break away from that character so easily.

I've never understood why an actor would take a film company's money to be in a film, then issue a statement saying the film sucks.  You don't want to piss off the studio people; they're the ones who make the casting decisions for future films.  Bill Murray could influence casting decisions as an actor 20 years ago, but not now.

Heh, nah you're all right, but BM isn't your standard Hollywood guy, he doesn't even have an agent or a contact number, he plays by his own rules.

Alien invasion movie Skyline looks interesting.

I think it looks pretty terrible. The effects look pretty cool, but the acting looks like shit and it doesn't seem like the movie will offer anything new or original or at all interesting.

Ugggghhhh Transformers movie. Michael Bay. Kill me now.

Quote
Stephen Fry will be in Sherlock Holmes 2, as Holmes' elder brother Mycroft. Awesome.

Heard this a while ago, all I can say is: nice. I enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes movie, and it seems like the type of movie that could have a promising sequel.

Eww on both accounts. I don't know many people who actually enjoyed xXx. I know plenty of people who love the Underworld movies though, and I have no clue why, they're horrible horrible movies.

I haven't seen a decent script yet!!

Booo! I want more Bond.

There were a few scary moments where it looked like the whole franchise might be stuck in limbo for the next decade. Since MGM owns the rights and it's basically fallen flat on its arse, there was all sorts of questions about who Bond would be sold to, and when. But now:

"it has been confirmed that its lenders have agreed to extend the company's debt repayment period until 29 October 2010. On November 4, 2010 Bond 23 was in a reorganisation plan by MGM and has been given a release date in November 2012. [107] Sam Mendes has pulled out of negotiations to direct futuristic thriller The Hunger Games because MGM are ready to move forward with production on Bond 23, and shooting could begin around mid to late 2011 for a 2012 release."

Which is better than nothing.

Daniel Craig will most likely return.

I want them to do a remake of Goldfinger.

District 9 was a good movie. But it doesn't need a sequel. And Transformers isn't even trying anymore, the fact that they've retardified the title alone is proof enough of how stupid a person will get from watching the movie.
