While I'm telling TV shows to fuck off, Numb3rs can continue to fuck off.

Though we're both a bit too old for it, for the past few months my younger brother and I have been bonding over our mutual love of "Phineas and Ferb." It's really clever and charming and, y'know, colorful. And I own the soundtrack album. Too pathetic?

I know, Faze--my behavior is completely out of character. I don't know what's come over me.

But yeah, it's a really good show. And I am mostly unashamed of my affection for it.

I feel the same about the show Kim Possible.

Hmm is there a thread for discussions on "shows you like that you are much too old for"?

You know what I hate?  These reality shows on History Channel and TruTV, Pawn Stars and Hardcore Pawn.  I'm rather indifferent toward the subject matter, but fuck those titles.  Who the heck are these people, punbrokers?

Heh, I've become the thing I hate.

The Daily Show beat out The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Can't honestly say I'm that surprised but it would have been a nice little victory for Coco. (And The Daily Show has won in the Outstanding Variety/Writing for for the past 7 years, shouldn't they just have their own category by this point, let the other teams win every now and then).

1. Phineas & Ferb is a good kiddie show. The characters are cute, the voice work is funny, the music is catchy. Not something I would admit to watching all on my own, but if I have an excuse (my kids watch it) I'll turn it on.

2. Boo. That sucks that Conan didn't win. The Daily Show has been annoying lately. And by lately I mean, for the past few years. Boo.

Seriously. The Daily Show is as good as it ever was. That episode he did earlier this year where he impersonated Glenn Beck for the whole show? That deserved an Emmy all by itself.

One of the primary benefits of being a woman is that you are more or less expected to watch the Disney Channel until reaching middle age. I mean, lookit all the princesses and shows about wizards! How they speak to me as a female!

The Daily Show beat out The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Can't honestly say I'm that surprised but it would have been a nice little victory for Coco. Though I don't really watch the Daily Show or Conan enough to have an opinion on the matter, I agree that it'd be nice to let someone else win the Emmy for a change. Politically-based, topical humor will always be viable--and so, in theory, so will the Daily Show. But it's become an institution at this point, and where's the fun in piling accolades upon accolades on an institution? Give the little guy a chance sometimes, if he's producing something equally as accomplished. I fail to believe that the Daily Show is the only show of its ilk work watching.

Ok I'm checking the urls of all these child pics you're posting chay.

That one is... disturbing. :hmpf:

:laff:

Also, I've been watching James Clavels Shogun miniseries based on the book I read a while ago, and I only just realised (thanks to IMDB & Wikipedia) Tishiro Mifune plays the lead Japanese guy, Lord Toranaga, man I am so dumb.

from wiki: "The series centers around an intelligence analyst at a national think tank called the American Policy Institute (API) who discovers that he may be working with members of a secret society that manipulates world events on a grand scale."

Very slow burning, but really really good. It's AMC, they guys who brought you Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

Just watched Boardwalk Empire on HBO for the first time.  That is a really good new series and I would highly recommend it (especially to anyone who liked the Sopranos).

On a side note, since this tread seems to be Rubicon dominate, I have only ever seen 1 episode of that show (first episode of this season).  I found it to be rather boring.  I might give it a 2nd chance, but I have so many shows to watch first.

What are you talking about Goph? The first sentence of your post Confused me...

Boardwalk is good, have a fallen a few episodes behind though.

Terriers is also good.

Free Hot Meal, I would definitely suggest giving rubicon a second chance. It is a slow burning show, but it is brilliant.
