Ella Enchanted: "What the hella?"
Jersey Girl: The good news: Jennifer Lopez apparently dies early in the movie. The bad news: Ben Affleck doesn't.
Havana Nights: Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Ella Enchanted is apparently based on a book, but I'm not sure if that had all the martial arts stuff. The movie is about a hot girl who has to obey any order you give her, so expect lots of perverts.

Sorry if this makes me sound stupid, but how can people judge movies by who's starring in it? On what basis do people judge a person's acting ability? I see it all the time. "I hate that movie cause Affleck starred in it." or "Jim Carrey is a shitty actor." The only time I've ever judged acting ability would be at a play or movie in which the people sound as if they're reading cue cards. That and Ben Stein. He can't seem to emote for beans. I guess I just haven't seen the acting abilities well enough. I usually prefer to judge the story not the actors. Sorry if I put this in the wrong place, but I couldn't read another actor bash without knowing why people think that way. Now back to your regular scheduled thread.

Saw the "Mask 2" trailer when I went to see RotK about a week ago. A dancing god-powered baby? Please let it be canned. Also saw a trailer for "The Last Samurai", looks like another one of those action films with romance and 'character development' injected in.

Linkie here! Shaun Of The Dead is one of the movies I'm most looking forward to seeing this year, and by the looks of this trailer, it's gonna be worth it.

Re: the story vs. actors discussion:
Could you imagine Burt Reynolds as Indiana Jones? Or anybody else as Han Solo? Do you think either movies would have been half as good if Harrison Ford wasn't in them? Great actors can make up for a non-great script, and great scripts can make up for non-great actors. And a great director can make up for non-great scripts and actors.
Anyway, the trailers:
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow: Those giant flying robots that shoot lasers are straight out of the ancient-school Superman cartoon. Also, "that IS cgi, right?" Miracle: "Not even Kurt Russel could screw this up, right?" Ella Enchanted: Still, "what the hella?" The Ladykillers: Intriguing. Tom Hanks does criminal mastermind does Colonel Sanders, Marlon Wayans gets slapped around. What's not to be intrigued by?

I just saw the Starsky and Hutch trailer, and I think it looks hilarious. I hope it's not one of those movies where every funny moments is in the trailer, and the rest is crap.
