Just watched it. Awesome. Matt Smith was on fine form, but I think that so far, River Song is stealing the show for this episode. Also love the FBI guy's voice.

Not so keen on the aliens. Creepy, creepy aliens.

Just finished the new ep. I would have watched it when it aired last night but I was at my aunts house and there was no available TV.

I agree about the creepiness of the aliens.

Good episode. Can't wait for more.

Those two skits were funny. Gotta love Amy...

Also love the FBI guy's voice.

Of course he was good he was played by Mark Shepperd... AKA Badger (Firefly), AKA Romo Lampkin (Battlestar Galactica)

Angry at this episode for it's ridiculous cliffhangers and for having the creepiest aliens I've seen in a while.

And by angry it means I love it, it's so good.

So who thinks that the Doctor's death has somehow got to end up being either prevented, a huge misunderstanding, or reversible? I'm not convinced that the BBC would allow something so profitable to end with Matt Smith leaving. They'll want to squeeze as many more incarnations out of the doctor as possible, after all - and with the Time Lords being gone, he can have as many more regenerations as the BBC can find actors to play them.

The Doctor that died was actually the Rani.

Nah, the Doctor won't die. It will be reversed/prevented/some sort of clever ploy etc etc. DW is making too much money for the BBC to kill it off forever.

kinda meh as an opener, it's obvious the doctor will be saved so there is no tension :(

the only thing i really noticed about the new series is it is now a bbc america production, guess those falling ratings in the UK dont matter as much anymore

God knows why the UK ratings are dropping, things are so much better now we're rid of DT and RTD.

DT and RTD sink. MS and SM rise. Hmm. Something going on there.

There's always an "f" in justice if you say it whilst keeping your lips tucked behind your teeth. Try it!

Hey guys someone has spotted Amy seeing a Silent (or Silence, or Silents, whatever) in the Lodger, twice...

Well, I could show you, but the vids must have been taken down earlier... I literally watched them this morning...

Anyway, in one clip Amy is talking to the Doctor and looks at something behind the camera and goes 'Hey!'.

Then in the second she goes 'Hey! You there!' then looks away kind of like 'WTF am I doing?'... They've been watching.

I find that although it renders the "Z" sound of the "X" almost unpronounceable, the "th" sound is unaffected. Hm. "Santhor" is perfectly pronounceable like that, in fact.

Tried it a few times. I can now tuck my lips behind my teeth and say "Xanthor" without changing any of the letters. Although it does make me sound a bit simple.

Day of the Moon was brilliant; some genuine scares, some uplifting scenes and a couple of interesting mysteries that will no doubt be revisited later in the series.

Indeed, A LOT of questions to still be answered, and as Bender says:

'And I bet it's gonna get a lot more confusing!'

I am so angry at all the unanswered questions.
I loved the episode, it was genuinely touching, hilarious and scary.
But I cannot stand cliffhangers.
I just stay all anxious until their resolved.

I think some of what's happened so far is pretty obvious, but I won't even use spoilers. Think back to The Two Doctors (yeah, that's a while ago) and Blink (wibbly wobbly timey wimey), and Amy being both pregnant and not pregnant/Rory remembering being a centurion and not remembering and the girl regenerating make a little more sense than they previously did.

There wasn't anything to resolve, they just went back in time and watched the moon landing. Bit early in the season to bit having filler episodes don't you think?

Just going to let my train of thought run awry here for a moment.

Something obviously happened between Amy and the Doctor's future version which is now deceased, I'm just curious as to in what circumstances this happened. Or the little girl possibly is Rory's and her DNA has been altered by the TARDIS (it being a living creature with a "magical" heart).

I Love River Song, so happy there's more emphasis on her this season.

One thing I didn't understand, in Series 5 the Silence were made to seem actually silent, but they weren't silent at all in Series 6...

Remember when they were getting back in the TARDIS in 'The Vampires of Venice' and everything went quiet, when will that, if ever, come into play?

So who thinks that the Doctor's death has somehow got to end up being either prevented, a huge misunderstanding, or reversible?

I may have finally figured it out. Things get so bad in the future that the Doctor is going to have break the rules and cross his own timestream, creating a completely alternate timeline. Of course, if Futurama has taught us anything, it's that paradox duplicates are doomed. So, having to die anyways, the extra Doctor decides to go out in such a way that starts out events the way they originally went, setting off his companions and earlier/other self on the journey he went on in the first place, minus whatever terrible thing originally occurred.

I'm wondering if he's not already in an alternate timeline at the moment, to be honest.

Have they altered the way The Doctor and Rivers relationship works this season? I swear it used to be just that they jump around and did things in a completely different order. Now is seems to be quite set on the fact that they are simply travelling in opposite directions.
