I need to watch Pixar's Up soon.

Its another two and a half weeks before Up gets released here.   cry

Was the Inception teaser shown yet?
Ah who cares.

Looks interesting, but that city-zoom-out-and-turning-into-the-film-title is surely a cliché by now.

Complete and utter bullshit on that release date.

Akira live action = FAIL.

Ghost in the Shell = Possible FAIL.

There was also some concept art of a Last Exile live action movie sometime ago, but was removed when the studio asked it to be taken down.

Disney gone back to it old format with a brand new classic story with a bit of a twist:

The Princess and the Frog

This looks really good.

Yeah, well that's I get for living at the center of the water hemisphere, I suppose.

Still, owing to an advance screening (in honor of  Father's Day, apparently) I got to see it today (Sunday) instead of having to wait till the end of the week.

They also showed a trailer for Astro Boy. It looked okay.

If you have any poo, fling it now.

I hope they'll do a good job on Astro Boy. They've ruined too many good animation by turning them into 3D for me hmpf

Yeah, it'll be a lame-as-hell ridiculous children's feature like that abortion they made of Speed Racer.

They should have had Oliver Stone direct Astro Boy - turn him into a chain-smoking depressive who suffers blackouts and has no idea that during these times he's an ultra-violent robotic vigilante who may or may not have had a hand in the Kennedy assassination.

I didn't mind that. It looked pretty, except the last scene nearly gave me a diabetes-

I just feel that if you're going to make a live-action movie based on a cartoon you probably shouldn't make it even more cartoony than the cartoon.

No, no, no! It's got to be even *more* cartoony, more! You've got to push it all the way up to eleven that pinacle of catoonyness that only live-action can achieve!

The more I saw of the movie, trailer, clips, etc, the more hope I lost. I know it will just end in bitter, resentful disappointment.

Cars 2 is gonna be when Pixar finally jumps the shark....mark my words...it won't be a classic like everything else they've done, just another lame cash cow sequel

My friends and I are going to see 9 tomorrow. I do think it looks like a cool movie but there's just so many other movies I want to see first like INGLORIOUS BASTERDS!!! So I don't know maybe I can get my boyfriend to sneak off to see that.

I want to see Inglourious Basterds also, it's on IMDB's top 250 list already.

Pirates Of The Carribbean: On Stranger Tides is the newest Pirates title.

...they're making a new one?

Bruce Campbell is meant to have a much bigger role in spidey 4. Also, Bruce Campbell was in spidey 1-3... I did not know this.

A lot of new films seem to go into the top 250 then just as quickly they drop again.

Just saw a commercial for The Invention of Lying. The commercial made me laugh, and nothing blew up or anything, so it seems like it might be pretty good.

I'm wary after the disappointment of Ghost Town.

Tweek: 50 on the list are from the 2000-2009 period, not too bad really.

The Invention of Lying looks very promising. Patrick Stewart narrating ftw!

Bruce Campbell is meant to have a much bigger role in spidey 4. Also, Bruce Campbell was in spidey 1-3... I did not know this.
Then again, he's said that he's had pivotal roles in the previous three movies, saying he created Spider-man, then was the only person to defeat Spider-man, and then was the first person to team up with Spider-man. All true, yes, but just a bit of an overexaggeration on each. Still looking forward to finding out what part he has, he was definitely the best part of Spidey 3.

He should be Mysterio. Perfectly over-dramatic.

Someone (can't remember who) thinks that the twist is going to be that he was playing the same character, someone who has been following him all this time.

EDIT: @Coldy, that's what this person thought could be a possibility too.

Well, if you want to go the non-over-dramatic route, I could see him as the much-rumored Kraven the Hunter. But Mysterio would be ballin' and would set up the Sinister Six.

Oh, and I've seen a few outlets spread the Mysterio rumors, with the most "credible" being Film School Rejects and Access Hollywood.

I could see him as the much-rumored Kraven the Hunter.

Bruce is too too pudgy. Kraven's in peak physical condition - even when he's not using his herbal potion he's an Olympic-level athlete. Plus Kraven's not remotely funny, and Bruce would be better utilized in more of a comedic role.

On the other hand, Bruce has the right jaw-line for Kraven.

I can't wait for Downey jr. as Holmes. The trailer looks exciting

A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-tSvrkKx2Y

There are two reasons why I am not opposed to this remake.

1. There are endless possibilities on what you can use for material to make a Nightmare movie. Effects and ideas can only get better (they can get stupid but hopefully they won't).

2. Jackie Earle Haley. If there was anyone else playing this part I would say fuck this movie. But Jackie's awesome. I'll admit watching the trailer, I though "He's definitely not Robert Englund" but that's a good thing. Someone commented that his voice in the trailer sounds like Freddy's mouth my be burned and he's muttering, something that I actually can agree with.

The trailer none the less has gotten me excited as a Nightmare fan. Can't wait to see it.

His face looks to be a very different kind of burn, i guess it's more realistic, but it's a shame you can't recognise Rorschach Haley more.
