It's interesting how Hurley proclaimed he would remember this moment on the boat against Sayid, saying if he ever needed help in the future he wouldn't help him... then flash forward three years and he's there saving his darted ass out of the Safehouse!
Will that promise ever go further? or does that just show Hurley is a good guy no matter what to help his "friends"..

I think your last point Javier is really more of a running injoke that the Lost writers have... so many fans have said how non-speaking survivors are always slayed... and I think with everyone calling him the wrong name, and him correcting himself - as if to defend his worthiness of being there (on the show) - was really hilarious. Of course he was going to get killed off... I laughed, it was great.

Javier, that's like saying the whispers in the jungle are unimaginative or that the "Jaws" theme is unimaginative. It lets you know something exciting is about to happen...danger is around the corner...but what? where? how?

I think I know what you mean, but now when I need to add or continue what I wanted to say about it I have no idea where to start. I'll just agree with you cuz I think you might be on the right track there. I think.

Amy, i sorta know what you mean, but Dan was saying that there aren't multiple "Roads" as he decribed it. So whatever has happened can't be changed (or split off into something different), and your Harry Potter parrallel kinda works, but I'm wondering where they can draw the line of what they can and can't (or Did and Didn't) do, like Dan was saying that des wouldn't answer the door*, yet Locke was able to tackle/kill the olde Dharma people...

* - This isn't a great example, cause Dan then went on to talk to des, but you know what I mean.

yah, its confusing.

What bugs me though is that when desmond was skipping between now and the past, he met Dan.  Since we know that what he did in his past effected the future because of the whole telling penny to call him thing, shouldnt he have recognized Dan?  Or no because by those standards he hadnt gone back in time and met him yet.

Mmm, i think the second thing, for some reason Des is the exception, so he can see him in the past and he only remembers in present time...

Hopefully they can explain the rules a little more in the next few eps.

That was the best thing since "Dude, he has a name. It's Roger Workman."

These new episodes did reignite the excitement that is waiting for the next episode of Lost which always dies down after months of waiting for a new season but it is losing its touch a bit. Early seasons posed questions I wanted to be answered NOW but these episodes pose some questions I can't even be bothered to ask. :(

What bugs me though is that when desmond was skipping between now and the past, he met Dan.  Since we know that what he did in his past effected the future because of the whole telling penny to call him thing, shouldnt he have recognized Dan?  Or no because by those standards he hadnt gone back in time and met him yet.
I agree with the second one. Dan says you can't change anything in time...so him meeting Desmond in the 'past' hadn't really happened until it happened...it was still in line with time and since Desmond is special and has a sexy accent he was able to be at the two places at once. Yeah, that explains it..

I wonder how they're going to get Hurley out of jail in 72 hours :laff:

I think that will be easier than getting Kate and Sun along.. but now that Sun wants Ben dead she will probably get along to get close him

Geting Hugo out of jail can be easy.. Ben is very powerfull and appears to have a big organization outside the island.. they can inperson some lawyer or psquiatric doctor or something to "traslade" Hugo and thats it..

Wonder if Hugo's mother really believe the history so far.. she said she does but she could be just trying to confort Hugo

Maybe Ben will get a full-body tattoo and deliberately get incarcerated so he can break Hurley out?

Annyway, everyone else has probably already assumed this, but...

Either way, I am loving the direction they're going in! The show's always had elements of sci-fi but now they're going all out and it's truly inspiring. The first two episodes were awesome (the premiere especially) and I can only imagine it's going to get better the deeper we get. Bring on 503!  :D

A constant isn't just "someone you know," it also has to be "someone/something you care about immensely." eg. Sawyer might not give a shit if Jack's back. If any of the O6 is going to be his constant, it's Kate.

Thats not true.  Last season Dan wrote in his notebook that he needed to use Desmond as his constant.  They do not care about each other immensely.

Why did Desmond only remember meeting Dan outside the hatch when he was on the boat 3 years after, seems like he would have known about it from the time he met Dan onwards?

Gah time travel!
Edit: Maybe you guys were talking about it already but I'm not reading PEEL a lot these days soz.

Faze, I think its because that memory was added right then in his time.

Lets say Chay went back in time and punched you in the face.  You suddenly wake up (in current time) and remember it, because until that moment, it wasnt a memory.

chay meet me after school in the playground, you're dead!

Still confusing, because once he punches me... I know about it from the time he did it... not from the time he went back to do it.... or something... GAH!
