I didnt like the episode.

First, Sayid should have died cuz he sucks.

Second, Kate REALLY should have died.  So she avoids MIB by jumping into the pit with Claire, WHO WANTS TO KILL HER.  They just sat there all peaceful until smokey left?  Yah right.  wtf happened to Claire "If Kate took Aaron I'd have to kill her."  WELL KILL HER.

Worst was the preview for next week.  It said Ben

WHAT, YOU CAN'T DO THAT.
She didn't jump right into the pit..she was holding onto the ledge.
Perhaps Claire has been given other orders that take precedence over killing Kate..

Anyone remember this episode from season two, Dave. Jorge Garcia who plays lottery winner Hugo "Hurley" Reyes stole the whole darn show.

Aww, cute. I liked that episode. Mini-reunion thing. But more importantly: When are Sun and Jin going to see each other again? If they kill one of them off before or even after this happens I will be sorely disappointed. I'm still not over Charlie.

I like how Artz was there in alt-land, and we also revisited the place he died. Wee!

Aw man, that episode was so many shades of awesome it's not funny.

Fuck I love ben so much. And jack and Richards scene was great. The reunion scene at the end was totally a nod to the earlier seasons.

Hopefully the shows pace doesn't slow down.

Let's all marry Dr Linus.

I can't wait to see what happenssssss...ESSSS..but at the same time I don't want it to end.

Oops..gone slightly mad. I don't want to be doing my uni work but I would really love to be able to watch every single episode of Lost from the beginning within 10 minutes right now. A simple recap episode will not suffice however! I wish I could just..evaporate into the world of Lost. Oh my, yes. I could be Smokey!

Woo, Ben episode... the alex pedo scene was awesome. :D

I didn't see it that way.

I think Ben is starting to remember the island.

In order for the plane to not have crashed, it must have crashed initially so the losties could blow up the bomb.  That may have reset time for them (even to the beginning of life) but they STILL would have had to have already lived and blown up that bomb. (thats why jack had the cut) So some where in their memory is the island.

Normally, Ben would have totally sacrificed the one person to save the rest (screw over alex, help the rest of the students).  But he didnt, and I think its cuz he knew he had more of a connection to alex then just teacher/student.

They must all start remembering soon.

Well yeah, the two time lines will start to merge/one will transition out in the next few eps. The last third of the season will be one story line. Can't wait for the Richard centric ep. Wonder if he'll have a flash sideways. He'd still be alive, since Jacob would've still given him his gift so long ago.

Yeah didn't they make some comment about going oldskool back to the beach, like old times, or something? Totally a nod to season 1, that was cool. Despite everything they've been through and everywhere they've been they still end up in the same place.

Awesome episode...

Loved the Richard/Jack part.. not for the "magic Jaco did the dynamite not blow" , but how he simply speaked his mind and exposed the info in plain view and logic.. "you are frustrated because Jacob let you down and you had been blessed by him for 300 years.. well.. i just came from a magic lighthouse where i can see the entire world.. everything fits, so this cant be a coincidence.. so lets just settle this one for all" , im not much fan of Jack (i hate those "character shields" types) but kudos to him there..

Also loved the Ben part.. it was similar to the jack part .. he exposed his case as such , in plain sight , with no "buts" not hidings , and pointed his logical exit: going back to the man in black because there was nothing more left for him until she offered him..

Once thing that striked me was .. the black smoke is "evil" (im not really sure of the 2 who is evil and who is good.. or just they are both evil or both good) , he is all powerfull and nothing restrains him anymore... why he standed just 10m from that girl and the "beach" team ... why he didnt simply killed them? It would be easier right?

And it was great to see Artz again... he was a poor redshit writed in only to be killed since the first time he spoke (and you know how i hate redshirt-writing) , they did use him good here without having to blow him to pieces

Next episode should start like this:

Richard: Well he was an experimental robot who could...

I'm enjoying it AND holding out to see how it all ends. Lost is like a lover who is dying from some incurable disease; we know he's going to die but we're making the most of it while we can. He's getting a bit weird every now and then but he knows his end is near and that gets to him sometimes so I forgive him.

I watched the entire series up to this point over the past month, and I have to say that the end of last season and so far this season hasn't been up to the energy of the past. Last season was really interesting the entire time with the Dharmaville storyline, but it ended with no real suspense. Three things could've happened: they don't get the bomb to work, they get the bomb to work and cause an alternate timeline, or they get the bomb to work which was actually the inevitable and they all die and the last season is only flash backs because everybody's dead. Except Desmond. You know, I think this season's not as thrilling because of the lack of Desmond. Actually, I'm pretty certain that it's the lack of Desmond. Sure, most of Dharmaville didn't have him, but at least you had Daniel or Horace or Hurley to awesome it up a little. But they went apeshit at the end of the last season and killed off every interesting character. They even finally introduced a possible interesting character (Jacob) and killed him! Now Daniel and Horace are dead and Hurley hasn't been doing a whole lot (other than seeing dead people, but that's nothing new really). And I liked the direction Sawyer took last season, but so far he's just been an emo kid. I demand more Desmond now!

Hello, I am back. And I love Lost. Did you forget that about me? Did you not care? Do you even know who I am? ALL WILL BE ANSWERED!

By the way, everybody is talking about how the two alternate realities are going to merge, but to be honest, I really hope that they DON'T.
I think the writers are doing something no other show has done, and that's give two endings to a show. The two storylines don't need to merge to be satisfying...that's the whole point. In one reality, all the mysteries and questions are being answered, and the writers can do whatever they want with the characters to progress the plot. In the other reality, the writers can show us a different universe, where all the characters we have come to love, even ones who have died, have a happy ending and never go to the island.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the two alternate realities MAY end up having something to do with one another, but as I said, I don't think they need to. I think they work excellently the way we've been seeing so far...in the reality we're familiar with the characters are still doomed to their fates because of Jacob...but in this new reality, they're free to live out their lives and earn the redemption we know they really deserve.

Hate the burst your bubble, but the last third of the season is one storyline. They are somehow related, and the alt-verse characters have already had a few instances of very slightly connecting to the other universe (Jack questioning his scar).

I realize that chay. I didn't mean to say I don't think they aren't going to end up becoming one storyline, because I'm pretty sure they are, but I was just making the point that I think it would be just as satisfying if they didn't.

Also, screw you guys who read spoilers...YOU RUIN IT FOR US ALL!

Yeah, it's more fun to theorise about what might happen than to just tell us all it's going to end up as one storyline where everyone gets married to each other in a huge ceremony and Ben apologises for murdering the party after letting out a loud fart and everybody laughs, The End. Nobody wants to know that!

They're not in hell. We've been over this, Lost writers. They're not dead. Stop trying to trick us into thinking they are.

Ah, okay, I think I get it...for reference, MIB just told Richard that he has to kill the devil, so that's where I am. My guess is MIB just pretended to be his dead wife to convince Richard that he was in hell so that he can trick him into thinking Jacob is the devil, so he can get Richard to kill Jacob.

So the episode is almost done and what I've gathered so far is pretty much...MIB is the Devil, and Jacob is God? The Devil can't kill God. The Devil is stuck on the island. The Devil wants to leave the island to cause havoc on earth?
I'm guessing this isn't the case...but let's see what happens.

Edit: I think I was right! Not quite sure if they're the Devil and God, but MIB is evil and if he leaves the island, then it will be Hell on Earth. Will be quite interesting to find out how this connects to Ancient Egyptian mythology. MIB is possibly Set, the Egyptian devil, in human form (didn't he say Jacob took his body?).

Also...OMGWTFBBQ THAT WAS AN AMAZING EPISODE!

Poor little Ricardo!

So everyone is part of a bet between Jacob and the MIB as to whether or not people can be good and not be persuaded to follow their evil side? Isn't that kind of mean for Jacob to have brought so many people there, over and over, knowing a lot of them would die? Or was he doing the rest of the world a favour? :p

Great episode.. at least the parts where i didnt feel insulted by dubbing us with mexican un-understable accent and portaying us like 1750s mexico ,come on.. 1877 is JUST 33 years before 1900s... there was allready steam ships , we had even a war fleet .. and the same goes for the Black Rock.... a sail ship? Oh come on.. i tought that ship had crashed there like 300 years before.. nut just one century .

Aside from that it was a great ep... awesome to watch finally Richard history fitting in and how he is related to Jacob and how he did knew the man in black ..

What i dont get now is .. if Jacob's work is trying to proove that there is good in people and the man in black believes all people is corrupted....  and Richard's work is being a bit of Jacob's representative for the people bring to the island..

Why is Richard among a group of cold blooded assasins, utterly evil , totally selfish and with absolutely no respect at all for any life as is "the others" ? And why he even seemed to aprove their actions when killing inocent survivors from 815?

There... explain that now J.J

I haven't been fully on board this season but the last ep was incredible. Was it just me or did the island look especially beuatiful in this episode? Seems like the director lingered on alot of amazing scenery. Interesting choice, considering Alpert believed he was in Hell.

CAPS! RAWWWRRR! CLATTER CLATTER CLATTER! AROOOOO.....

There's less than half a season remaining now, and I can't say I'm really digging the whole Jacob/Black Dude direction. It seems like such a cop out after five preceding seasons, which seemed at times like they were leading up to some sort of fiendishly clever exposition/endgame. I dunno, I could be totally blown away by how it wraps up, but, eh...

Didn't one of the writers back during season 2, or something, say that everything would be explained in a way that was logical/non-supernatural. It seems like they've quietly jettisoned that idea.

I like that they're not getting too clever with the explanation. It's a classic good vs evil, God vs the Devil type thing (done in a really interesting way). I think if they tried to think of something completely original, it would just get confusing like the X Files.

I read this posted elsewhere:
"So wow, Jacob was kind of a dick tonight, what with the beatdowns and the shouting and the waterboarding and the "fuck you" rock-grams, huh?"

heh rock-grams :D

And: "Well, Jacob is kind of old. Maybe this is the equivalent of yelling at the neighbor kids. "Get the hell off my sand! You damn kids these days with your eyeliner and vandalism of my statue-house. I used to have an upstairs, you know; now all I have is a foot! I ought to beat your punk ass for that."
