...will the Palm Bearers moon walk the coffin to the grave?

I knew he was flamboyant but I didn't imagine he'd want people carrying palm trees at his funeral.

Lol - just the leaves (fronds?), not whole trees!

Not only can you do the whole honor guard salute thing with them as the the coffin (urn, vase, or whatever) passes by, while you're waiting for it to arrive you can fan the assembled masses to help them keep cool.

As they say...
Quote
A palm in the hand is...  worth  a poke in the eye with a sharp frond just waiting to happen!

Or is it "With fronds like these who needs anemones."?
I forget.

do you think that shitty comedians like jay leno will cram up about michael jackson or will we have to put up with a whole new onslaught of shitty jokes about him?

Did anyone else died yet?
off the top of my head, bea arthur, j.g. ballard, pat hinkle, andrew wyeth, don galloway, billy powell (the pianist for lynyrd skynyrd), and farrah fawcett.

Taking all bets! Who will die next?

You know, that's such a good idea that it really ought to have its own thread!

P.S.  Who was Billy Mays?

[edit]

P.P.S  Nevermind. In the time it took no one to even bother replying I was able to look him up on wii-pee. Also I was thinking of a different Billy. (Shears, of Sgt. Pepper's fame).

Me too. With Jackson it was less a bad feeling than it was a "well that's one less freak in the world" feeling.

I know what you mean, for a guy who watches a lot of daytime TV, I saw Billy pretty much every day until his passing, and the "Billy Mays here" made it sound like he was my friend, plus he had a kickass beard

RIP Walter Cronkite

I've seen archive footage of some of his reports, like the JFK assassination.  He was a good reporter.

If he was really your friend, wouldn't he just say "Billy here"?

I was going to say "I thought he died ages ago" but then I found out I was thinking of someone else — the guy from The Avengers, Patrick Macnee, who, on further investigation, is not dead yet at all!
