Anybody ever watch The Wire.  I know Faze got to Season 2, but didn't finish. The series completed about a month ago.  Anyways I think it was underrated and should have won more awards.

Funny story, I do temp work at Charity Shops sometimes and I always see stacks of Friends DVD's and Video Casettes.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that E4 (Channel 4's attempt at Youth Oriented Program Channnel) constantly has like eleventy billion episodes everyday or the fact everyone realises it reminds them of the nineties and they wish to purge them from their households...

Dude, I finished watching it a few months ago, it's absolutely awesome.
But I thought Omar would be the avenging angel in the end,

The main thing I found about the Wire is that I could not watch is casually, that is to say using the internet and such, it required my full attention to make sure i did not miss anything.

Was nice to see Bub's and Omar appear in Heroes even if their characters in that were no where near as well realised.

What did surprise me when watching some of teh extras is that the guys who play Mcnulty and Stringer Bell are in fact English. Maybe it is because I am English I can not easily distinguish American accents.

Still if you have not seen this series get it, watch it, love it.

Bubs and Marlo were in Heroes, not Omar.

Most important question of all about The Wire:
WTF IS UP WITH SNOOP, THAT CHICK THAT LOOKS LIKE A DUDE AND TALKS REALLY WEIRD!

She freaks me out. :(

As Senator Clay Davis would say "Sheeeeeeeeit". You are right it is Marlo not Omar, whoops.

As for Snoop, well apprently that is her name in real life as well and she was part of "The Game" and went to prison for some time. Can only guess she talks that way to seem more masculin as she plays for the same team as Detective Greggs.

Omar is usually the guy with the shotgun everybody is running from or lying dead near, he robs from the drug dealers.

Bunk is the fat homicide detective, McNultys partner, who likes to get drunk and he smoke cigars.

Right, now lets move on to Californication, I think airbags watches this, anyone else?

I think it's absolutely awesome, a modern day rock and roll love story that's also hilariously vulgar at times (Marcy slays me, Coke Smurf!)

Last episode: OMG! :(

Episode 4 of The Wire is great. Them trying to get the cabinet through the door, hilarious.

Also, Lester is great. "13 years?" "and 4 months"

Actually it's been mostly Lou Ashbys crazy antics, and the pregnancy and Coke Smurf, I still like it.

Could be better though. I'm hoping for a self-destructive spiral to kick in. Hopefully Series 3 will involve some kind of debasing, humiliating rock-bottom state for either Moody or Runkle, with the other one pulling them out of it and generating lolz along teh way.

Looks like it'll be Runkle! Or as I like to call him, FapMaster R. :D

Poor Bunk, he'll have to put up with a lot more of McNultys shit.

So I caught the infamous Assey McGee thanks to Adult Swims YouTube Episode Channel dealie last night.

What utter bollocks. Newsflash, Adult Swim. The ass-for-a-face gag has already been done, South Park did it several years ago for an entire episode. They also worked in other jokes in the same episode.

Seriously, the whole thing is one long 11 minute stretched out joke.

To be perfectly honest, Sky didn't have a chance in hell of doing Discworld justice anyways.

What we need is for some big Hollywood studio to split Colour Of Magic & Light Fantastic into three massively big budget films, swear off CG animation in favour of traditional effects techniques, hire a bunch of unknowns to fill the major roles, and use stars as the background characters. Then they need to delay release by six months, blame it on something that makes no sense, "leak" a bunch of stills, work up some hype on teh interwebs, revamp the trailer and then push the first movie out back-to-back with the second before making us wait a year for the third.

Original score by Danny Elfman and John Williams, classical orchestra with 10% electro-synthesiser, needs a little bit of product placement, so how about a line of toys by Kenner to complement the movie, maybe some promotional wizzard hat giveaways, and some sort of soft-drink tie-in. Sausage inna bun, anybody?

Announce that the films will NEVER be released on DVD, stage a "fan campaign" to have the decision reversed, grab some headlines (free publicity) and then "relent"once all the films have finished their cinema run, bringing out a feature-packed disc for each film that costs twice the usual price and comes in a shiny metal tin, and there's a special knack of getting it to open.

Recipie for a much-loved film series that wil gross relatively well at the box office, and perform solidly in DVD sales (particularly if the DVD's come cout around Xmas) I would think.

It was entertaining, but having now watched it a dozen or so times, I think they failed to do the book justice, as well as having somewhat failed with a couple of the characterisations. Not that it isn't entertaining in its own right, but I'd rather read the book.

As a Discworld fan, I do agree it could have made more effort but it could have been worse.

If you've seen the crappy cartoon movie of Soul Music you'd know what I mean.

You know what show I love?  Life.  It's a good show.  Damien Lewis is hilarious, and, despite her character sleeping with the idiotic captain, Sarah Shahi plays a pretty good straight-man.  Adam Arkin is also funny.
