So, anyone catch this last night? I enjoyed it... pretty much mindless fun, nothing really deep, no big secrets or anything... looks to be pretty much Monster-of-theWeek action. Nothing mindblowing, but it's something you can just sit down and watch and not turn into a hobby.

Are we not using "the" anymore? What hell?

Since the title of the show doesn't have "The" in it, well, yeah.

Besides, I'm twice the "the" it ever was.

Probably a copyright thing. 'Don't Fear the Reaper', by Blue Oyster Cult, is the greatest rock song ever written.

I looked up this new show and it looks interesting. It'll probably take ages to come to my shores though...

I watched the first few minutes of it because I heard some stuff about it earlier in the day on NPR.  I couldn't stay interested enough to keep watching though.  The idea is interesting enough, but my initial impression of the characters is that they are fairly generic.  Especially the in-your-face, Jack Black style friend of the main character.  Overcooked.  The big toothed Hillary Swank look a like kind of sealed the deal for me.    I'll admit I didn't give it a fair shake, but those were my initial impressions from watching 10 minutes of it.

I enjoyed it.  The guy who plays the main character, I really liked him when he was in grounded for life.  Ill keep watching.

Me likey.
Probably wouldn't have watched if Kevin Smith didn't direct the pilot, but I'll stick around. I'm also a fan of the main character.

I saw the pilot at Comic-Con, but missed it earlier this week.  I'm going to assume things didn't change much between then and now.

It had its moments, but it didn't look like a show that would hold my interest beyond a few episodes.  I agree with Bankrupt: the characters just didn't seem that interesting (or at least that "fresh" ) to me.

Does the show actually use the song it's named after? Like, in the credits or anything? Because if it does, it's automatically the greatest show ever, regardless of all other content.

Um, why is the show named after the song?  I'm fairly sure the word reaper was not first used in that song...

Of course not, but when 'don't fear' and 'reaper' are used together it can't really not have at least some connection to the very famous song.
Come on.
Don't Fear the Reaper - Don't Fear Reaper.
It's almost identical. Do you know the song?

Ok, the name of the show is just Reaper. Just because Kryten decided to spice up the name of the thread a little doesn't mean you should take it so literal.

Well now I know that. It's yet to air in my country, so my knowledge is limited.
Thanks for your understanding and support.

The main character wasn't Sam in "The Loop" was he? Reminded me of him...i recorded Reaper while i was at work one night just for the heck of it and thought it was a pretty fun show. like you said, nothing too deep or dramatic that you can cling to from week to week. just good ol' fashioned devilish fun.

I watched an episode last night, It was alright.  It's an hour long show right?  It really doesn't need to be.  I can't say that I'll purposely watch it but if it's on and nothing else is good, why not?
