One positive thing I'll say about Day the Earth Stood Still... it may be the role Kanunu was born to play: a facimile of a human made by aliens who don't know very much about humans. That's a character he just might be able to pull off.

It'd be hilarious if he managed to overact and emote the role...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer is online.

Not sure how I feel about it, I liked the style of the Bryan Singer X-Mens, so the stuff in this trailer looked a bit much for that style, it could just be the overused orchestral choir used in every frickin trailer these days though.

:watches the trailer:

Wolverine is less than 1,000 years old? Lame.

Perhaps they were afraid ignorant masses would accuse them of ripping off Heroes...

I also read that this one has to do well before they will consider Magneto. :hmpf:

Well, as long as they have lots and lots of Hugh Jackman, including plenty of scenes showing his soft vulnerable side (yuck), I figure it'll do well enough in theaters. The ladies, they love that Hugh Jackman, so it'll be a popular date flick I expect. But given the treatment here, I'm not looking forward to what they do with Magneto.

Well it does look like they are going with the Origins backstory for this film (ie Wolverine coming from a rich Canadian family), will be curious if they give him the same real name as the comics.

Well I only hope that it is better than X-men 3. it also seems to have Ryan Renolds as the Merc with a mouth which seems like it could be good casting.

Probably go to see it, I mean it can't be as bad as Spiderman 3....oh I really should not have said that.

Which other peeps could we see in this?

There was Gambit, who's the dude with the claws and teeth, is that a young sabertooth? Not huge on my X-men, also, was there a young Storm in there? Or am I just being racist...?

Dude Terminator Salvation looks BAMF to the max. Maybe 2009 will be the year that I see more that one goddamn movie in a theater.

In the X-Men Origins trailer, was the chick in the lowcut black suit a differen Phoenix? And *random spasm* Liev Schreiber!?!?!?! I love that sexy man even with the cheap looking fangs!

I was quite impressed with the Terminator 4 trailer too, but then again, the movie always looks good in the trailer. Maybe I'll read the book first. :)

Probably Civil War, since the comics say he was born in the 1800's. However, the comics say that he only fought in the World Wars and is Canadian.

HRm. I would've sworn there was a wolverine miniseries which established him as being ridiculously old, and more specifically having spent time in feudal japan in the 14th century or thereabouts. I remember watching Heroes when Adam was first introduced as Kinsei in feudal japan and thinking that it was a bit of a rip-off in fact. However, it turns out this is something I dreamed up, or at least something obscure and non-canon.

It was essentially army high command, many of whom despised the nazis. They figured that Hitler was leading them into the ground. On top of his other activities, deathcamps, etc they decided to take him out.
