Wow.  I saw the original Sam Dunn documentatary on HBO about 2 years ago, and loved it.  I can't believe they're going to show Iranian Thrash & Chinese Black Metal; it'll be interesting to see how some of these repressive societies deal with any kind of Metal.  I can't wait to see it!

Christina Ricci as Trixie?  I can dig it.

See, this is the part I just don't get: Why make a Speed Racer movie that Speed Racer fans won't like?  Wouldn't it make more sense to make one that Speed Racer fans would like?  People who aren't fans of the original probably wouldn't care either way.

Meh.  I still have a hard time not seeing her as the twelve-year-old who played Wednesday Adams.  That's okay though; I don't think that Trixie was ever really meant to be sexy.

Actually, I don't really have a problem with any of the casting decisions, except for casting Dammit Janet as Speed's mom.  Seeing John Goodman as Pops Racer was the only part of the trailer that made me not want to punch them.

I love how Marvel's working right now: introducing characters then moving them into a crossover movie, as opposed to DC's let's-not-use-Chrtian-Bale-and-what's-his-name-that-played-Superman-in-the-JLA-movie schema.

Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer - a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.

The reason Speed Racer fans won't like the movie is because it's messing with their franchise David A, not necessarily because the movie sucks.  Any adaptation of the show would be looked down upon as a bad thing by real Speed Racer (almost typed Sailor Moon I think for some reason) fans.  Anyways, I'm suggesting the movie may not be that bad; to me it looks pretty decent.

I was never a fan of the show, and I think the movie looks seven shades of lame. Lame like everything else starring a kid who isn't Short-Round from Temple of Doom.

And where is he now?

Certainly not doing as well as Mikey or Brand(on?), that's for sure (Choco = Chunk and Bagou = Mouth... someone made a mistake with them for some reason.)

Tropic Thunder
Anything written by and starring, Ben Stiller (and therefore featuring his dad and wife) is usually "meh" to me but just look at how awesome Robert Downey Junior is (again)   :D
There's some good stuff in the red band trailer too.

Cool Wanted featurette.

Man Robert Downey Jr. is the most convincing black guy I've ever seen. I hate Ben Stiller so I'll probably be skipping tha film anyway.

While DC seem to be failing on so many levels with their (lack of) crossovers, Marvel are jumping in instead.
Beginning with Captain Americas shield appearing on  Tony Starks workbench and Nick Fury showing up at the end of Iron Man, I think the plan is for Nick Fury, Captain America and Thor movies being released before the eventual Avenger Initiative movie.

Tony Stark apparently also appears in the new Hulk movie too.

So here's a short of Spider-man, Iron Man and Hulk beating up some giant robots.

YOUR MOVE DC! GET BALE AND ROUTH TOGETHER BEFORE 2015 pls!!

Or maybe it isn't. At all. Saw the preview in the cinema, and it wasn't terrible as a whole.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (Jul 11).  I love the book, and I enjoyed the 1959 film.  This one modernizes the story, so it will be interesting to see how much they change it (hopefully not too much.)  Plus they filmed part of it in Iceland, too!  Yea1
