Everyone's seeing Iron Man. We saw Superhero movie last night for some reason, and we could hear something loud in the cinema next door. One friend said "what's on in there?" the next one said "Iron Man I think" then I said "ironing his pants."
Yes. I'm sure it'd be more interesting than Superhero movie, can't remember any of the 'jokes'. The preview was on, looked pretty cool. Although right at the end of the preview it had that whisper type thing where he goes "I am Iron Man" which made us laugh quite a lot. Strange thing.

Iron Man

I was going to give this an A-, then I realized that I seriously can't think of anything wrong with it, so...

I'll have to give it an A. Great way to start the summer blockbuster season...

I Am IRON MAN

This movie was great, not over the top or too fantastical, just solid.

I liked Stan Lee's appearance, it reminded me of a line from Mallrats that he said concerning Hefner and himself.

A+

Unless you get radically different previews, that'd have been the intro to Black Sabbath's Iron Man, and it's an awesome ominous metallic voice, not a whisper. Boo!

Iron Man

A close-second for best superhero movie ever (#1 being Batman Begins).  Funny, well-paced, great actions.

What's the deal with The Dude being the villain in Marvel movies?  First Hulk and now this.

Anybody who left before the credits were over needs to be slapped around for missing the best scene in the entire movie.

Batman Begins #1 superhero movie!?  Nah.....

I think I made my Iron Man review in the other thread... but basically it was a good movie, well worth the money I spent.

I think the plot progression got sketchy at times, and the whole bad guy thing seemed anti-climactic with odd motivations..... but...

The cast was just perfect.  And for most of the film everyone seemed believable.  Do you think they were trying to tell us there will be a sequel near the end?

That's right motherf**ker, I broke in your house and broke all your stuff.  You think you're the only motherf--ckin' superhero in this marvel universe?  Get this... what you think about a sequel!?

Anyone catch the Arrested Development references?

For some reason I find it hard to imagine winna saw this movie. He probably would have had to go to a theater...in public...in the outside. And that just seems distinctly un winna-like. Either Nick is outright lying, or somebody else in posting on his account.

One-Sentence Movie Reviews

Iron Man:
Makes a shitty superhero awesome by getting a crazy coke-head to play him with drugged-up gusto!
10/10

Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness:
When a stop-motion skeleton tells you it 'has a bone to pick with you', you know you're Bruce Campbell.

King Kong (Peter Jackson remake):
Could have used less stuffy human drama and more of the damn giant ape, preferably fighting Godzilla.

The Host:
Best Pseudo-comedic Korean mutant monster film to come out in a long time.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles:
You can start by wiping that fucking dumb-ass smile off your rosey fucking cheeks, and acknowledge this fucking movie as one of the greatest fucking comedies ever made.

Bee Movie:
Would have been better if they'd made it funny.

Planet Terror:
Okay, it's mounted to her sexy stump, but how was she actually firing the leg-gun?

What are you, a franchise now?

No Planet For Old Men
I mean country. I really did.  :(

If you liked Fargo, you'll like this. I did, so I did. Definitely an overlauded movie, but griping about the fine detail is kind of petty, especially when there are so many other "artistic" films that get away with it. The existentialist waxing by Tommy Lee Jones grated on my nerves, but it's the price I had to pay to see Woody Harrelson do anything at all with himself these days. And then get shot by a pneumatic plunger.  :)

I saw it again tonight, still great, saw Captain Americas half finished shield on Starks desk this time (when Pepper catches him getting his armor taken off).

I thought it was pretty straightforward.

As the only person who liked it, I'm a little peeved that Ang Lee's interpretation of the Green Goliath is being discarded in the new film.

Regarding the planned Avengers movie foreshadowed in the after-credits scene of Iron Man:

I've read that Captain America and Thor are to be included. I always felt that the main 'traditional' lineup of heroes in Avengers comics was a bit B-list. I'd like to see a somewhat modified dream-team if they make an Avengers film, using more popular Marvel characters that have already found success on the big screen. Inter-studio complications be damned - I want to see Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Downey-Jr's Iron Man, and Norton's Hulk all together in one movie.

Captain America is a lame-ass.

Uh, no, that was Gary Busey.  But, since both are disheveled, blond, alcoholic madmen, I can see how anyone could easily think that...

I'm pretty sure Gary Busey and Nick Nolte are the same guy.  He just has a really good (or really bad) agent.

But Captain America is the shit, and this was prominently featured in the Civil War story arc... Captain America is the ideal of America personified... That is total badassery sir.
