This review is kind of late. Oh well. Happy FeetI'm really glad I didn't pay money to see this movie. What an attrocity. I might have been able to live with the blatant political message and the not-so-subtle slap in the face of religion (even if I don't consider myself particularly religious; or political), but the story was jarbled, at best, and the characters were nearly impossible to care for, being as flat as they were. The voice acting was bland: unsurprising, given the sheer amount of movie star VAs, but still painful. Much in the last 30-40 minutes made very little sense to me, probably because anything done then was done in the name of convenience (Mumbles "miraculously" makes it to a bustling city; the tap dancing is magically translated as "Hey, we're running out of fish, dumbasses!" to the humans; the world comes together to pull out all fishing efforts out of Antartica; most of the penguins randomly decide to "forgive" the main character and accept him back into the flock in all of 5 minutes, etc.). The whole second half was just one huge "WTFH" moment. Dancing penguins is, perhaps, the worst concept they could have utilized. Mary Poppins only pulled it off because the "unrealistic" animation gave the penguins more fluidity and motion: by trying to make these guys as realistic as possible, you're forcing the animators to work with a creature that's really too stiff and slow to dance in an energizing fashion. Every musical number in this movie came out looking awkward, IMO. I am amazed that this won an Oscar, let alone that it beat Cars and Monster House for it. It's one of the most nonsensical movies I've seen in a long time.

Norbit
I was amazed how good this movie was. I thought it was going to be a horrible, over-hyped movie, but it was actually very good. It was very funny, had a well-formulated plotline, and nice directing. The one great thing with the movie was it made me care for Norbit and be sad for his situation. Plus, it was very, very funny.
I'll give this a B. Although that's the same as Spider-man 3, I have to say that Norbit was better.

28 Weeks LaterIt's the end of the human race as we know it... and I have to spend it watching two ugly stupid kids! It started off pleasantly enough (a farmhouse of people slaughtering and eating each other) but that was just to make the pain more raw when the children jump in. The children are coming back to London to help rebuild the country after the previous movie, and after being welcomed, they are cautioned numerous times by their Dad and the military to NEVER, under any circumstances, leave the green zone and explore the ruins of London. Yeah well so anyway they leave the green zone and explore the ruins of London the minute their Dad turns his back. They sneak past some soldiers and The kids find their mother barricaded inside their old house, and after being captured by the American peacekeepers, the kids and their mum are taken back to the Green Zone. Several of the top commanders discuss that the mother is infected with the virus, but is somehow immune to the effects of it, making her a carrier with the potential of re-infecting the entire world. In the meantime, the children's dad, who left their mum to die in the farmhouse, visits her in the medical wing, sort of tries to apologise for it, and kisses her. During this scene, the medical commander explains to the others how "important and dangerous" the mother is, but this is kind of suss anyway seeing as how they fail to leave a single soldier guarding her. It's a nice touch. Anyway. Obviously he becomes infected and goes on a nutty killing spree, starting a whole new wave of death and terror, billions die, civilisation collapses, etc etc, that the two kids are basically responsible for. WELL GOOD GOING kids, you destroyed humanity. To summarise, I didn't really like it. C-

Hmmmm, the Silver Surfer gets feck all screen time in his new film... (seriously though that's the only real reason people will go see it, unless it was Fantastic 4: Invisible Girl X-Rated) I read the main fight sequence is between the F4 and a:

Short round-up of movies I've recently seen... Ocean's 13: Best movie I've seen this summer thus far. AGhost Rider: It had some good moments, wasn't great. Cage was meh. C+Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer: I thought this would majorly suck. It didn't. I got sick of Jessica Alba, but the Surfer was pretty good. Too bad they didn't have Galactus' face. C+

Just seen TRANSFORMERS today, have to give it a A-. It was quite surprising being an M. Bay film and all. The characters were alright including the Transformers, although I feel like the transformers didn't get enough verbal screen time especially for the deceptacons. I was not expecting anything fantastic but was pleased to of gotten my moneys worth "my opinion", there were a good amount of laughs from audience and myself, and I did not catch myself yawning or sighing, so good sign there aswell. Would have to say Frenzy was my fav, insane little guy and great addition. And mobile phone transformer with mini missile and guns. Go see if you like big action movies or if you want to see your fav robotic superheroes in the "flesh" on the big screen.

Today I went to see Shrek 3 and I love the babies!! They are so cute. I want to babysit them and play with them. Puss and Donkey are my faves and I like their song during the end credit. Have to wait for a long time for them to make Shrek 4.

There is many ref. to the G1 and G1 movie in this movie. A

Ratatouille
If you skip Die Hard for this, you're still manly. This movie's the best Pixar film since Monsters, Inc. or Finding Nemo. Seriously. It's definitely one of the best movies of the summer, along with Ocean's 13. Once again, seriously.

TransformersI was never up on Transformers, it was slightly before my time. But the movie was hot, son. Shia Labeouf did a great acting job, was funny but didn't force it. Got to give the director credit, for a second it almost seemed real. Nice young eye candy and the usual Micheal Bay action scenes. A(Would have been an A+ if I was a Transformers fan.) I knew Jazz was going to die because he had a "black" voice.

Okay, first off. Dude, what the fuck? and I say that in a confused way, not an angry way. God help me, I actually find Tom Greens horrible freakish and desperate attempts to get a chuckle amusing.
This movie is pretty bad. How bad? It won most of the 2001 Razzle Awards. Tom Green enjoys the fact it is a terrible movie and has no regrets. It is that bad.
Yet, Tom Green and Rip Torn, two of the possibly weirdest most unlikeable father and sun duos amuse me in their surreal fucked up relationship in this movie.
I admit I laughed at some points in the movie, followed by the 'god help me' cringe. All you can do is go Ha! and cringe a little as Tom Greens character parades about wearing a bloody Moose skin.
I admit some bits of this movie is wrong. The disturbing amount of 'hilarious' child abuse bits. If they removed the little kid that lived next door getting hit in the fact by car doors/bottles/sharp objects, dropped the whole alleged molestation of the grown up little brother and toned down the bits where Tom Green fucks about, as well as drop all the animal genitals, this movie would be a mediocre chuckle fest worth renting at best.
Oh god forgive me at chuckling at Tom Green spazzing about, jerking off a horse and playing his electric keyboard while eating sausages attached to a series of strings with bacon tied to his ears. I'm a lonely sad man.
-D but a bonus: WTF!lol Award.

TRANSFORMERSSaw it last night, and it was as good as I expected. I have been waiting since august for this movie to come out, and it didn't disappoint at all. I even made a t shirt that says "I <3 Megatron". Cause he was my favorite character in the original series. After seeing the movie though, I think Bumblebee is my new favorite. Micheal Bay did an amazing job with the action sequences, and everything else. The chick who played Mikaela is a terrible actress I must say. But she's still sexy. A+(Because I was a Transformers fan)
