I just saw Miley Cyrus in the news, apologizing for lurid photos of herself.

"Looks like next years harvest will be even better."  I said.

Yeah, I know, it's really the second half of the season premiere. I was just calling it what Comedy Central called it. :P

Unfortunately, according to sps, they removed the "hour long" statement from the press release, so I guess it's either shortened or a two parter now.

Gah, lame.

I wasn't all that excited anyway since the first half of Season 12 was totally sub-par (with the sole exception of Tonsil Trouble), but their recent multi-part episodes have been fantastic so I was kinda hoping it'd raise the quality level a little... It's going to take a LOT to salvage this season.

I dunno - I feel like they've been having too many multi-parters and it's just getting irritating.

That and the sub-part quality of the episodes as of late, yeah...

I thought the worst part about the first half of season 12 was the fact that Matt and Trey have always said they hated gag jokes, but they used a ton of them in some episodes. The mouse singing at the moon in "Follow That Penis" was a perfect example.

As long as I'm talking about it, I also didn't like how they switched Garrison back into a man.

It feels to me like they're going after the whole internet crowd now. What, with the South Park Studios site playing such a major part of the show now, and episodes like Canada on Strike and Over Logging, which would make NO sense to anyone who didn't frequent the net. South Park has had some great running gags in episodes ("They took our jobs!") but now they seem to be trying to create one in every episode (eg. "How can I reach these kids?") and they're just not funny. That "I'm not your buddy, friend" thing should've been done ONCE. Doing it three times just killed it. They're making a conscious effort to turn as many things possible from the show into internet memes and it's REALLY pissing me off. I fucking hated the scene in Canada on Strike with all the internet fads fighting eachother... It felt like it was straight out of Family Guy - a bunch of pointless references to things with no real joke. And like Newhook said, the show is using "gag" jokes far too often now, despite Matt and Trey expressing such passionate hatred towards them. It's a real shame, since Season 11 was great for the most part, but I really feel as if the show's lost its way now.

I dunno, I enjoyed it.

Or at least the first half of it - then it just got really repetitive and a little too overdone. Still, the first act was pretty good and the second and third ones didn't drag too terribly.

ninja site  is shit. I been having problems with it.

I don't really know what to think about the episode. Indiana Jones being raped was so...... hmmm not fun to watch .

Butters needs to stop being a pussy and stop being told by Cartman all the time

No no no no. Episode felt like it didn't go anywhere. Yeah, shooting people in the dick provided some chuckles, but the Indy Rape scenes felt so forced and dragged on.

And didn't they already express their hatred of Lucas & Spielberg in Free Hat? (Which I'm also pretty sure they died in)

Horrible start to the new run of episodes. SP is loosing ground FAST after a horrible first half, and this isn't helping.

Once you get the point, it gets boring fast.

They are also a victim of their own succes in a way. Not much shocking or new can be done anymore.

I liked the new Indiana Jones. I thought the whole Lucas and Spielberg raping Indy was funny at first, but as I said it dragged on, and on. They basically covered this ground already in Free Hat. It's too bad that what I thought was actually a decent Butters/Cartman story got caught up in the other bullshit.

It's kind of ironic, because I think Matt and Trey are beginning to rape South Park at this point. They're just running some of this shit into the ground. The fact that the Indiana Jones movie was generally well received doesn't help the episode either.

Also, what were all the rape scene's parodies of? The last one ("Squeal like a pig") was deliverance, what were the others?

Me and my friend just watched the movie "The Boys" which kinda revolves around these three brothers who rape this girl (She has to watch it for uni) and i took this ep of SP over to potentially lighten the mood after what we thought we be quite a downer of a movie. Turns out it wasn't as graphic or depressing as we'd thought, and the South Park episode with Indy rape scenes was more disturbing, she didn't want to finish the episode... :hmpf:

Quote
New York, October 13, 2008 – Cartman and Wendy throw down in an all-new episode of “South Park” titled, “Breast Cancer Show Ever.” Wendy gets in trouble when she threatens to beat up cartman after school. No matter how fired up Wendy is, all bets are on Cartman. Everybody knows a girl can’t fight a boy and win.
