you guys are confusing me, and i'm the one who made the "realism out the window" comment in the first place.  And i meant it about the style of the character designs.  that FLCL junk looks kinda cool (so far it's my favorite shown here) but the stupid cat ears version of that girl with her anime expression is what makes me not like it.

I wasn't talking about the "weird story line" and for the most part as long as the story isn't "naked girl floating around, then a guy's brain explodes" (ghost in the shell, anyone?) I'm ok with it.

Girl with cat ears, whiskers and big cheesey triangular smile = fake = realism out the window

That reasoning really worked out for the movie, didn't it.

If this doesn't look good, I don't know what does... And do you think it is better with like Disney?

not to fond of the guy, but the background is realy realistic looking. i like that. What do you mean do i think its better with disney? the animation style? i do, depending on the movie. Atlantis sucked. pochohontas was real pretty, at least parts of it were. The people in beauty and the beast were drawn fairly well. I do like how disney animates charactor expression. there more natural! gotta love that.

natural is good but sometimes they try a new style like in Tarzan and well the film was not awful but still prefer Ghost in the Shell.

I'm not actually that set on realism. (I love abstract, surrealist, cubist and pop art) I quite like some of the manga comics that I have seen, mainly because of their eyes. Although that cat woman cheesy thing was very annoying.

I actually don't mind the anime look, as long as it's not overdone.
