I love Green Wing! I can't believe I haven't seen this topic sooner, I have the Season 1 DVD Boxset and am watching each new episode in ore its such a brilliantly mastered comedy that makes me laugh for every gag in its zany and random comedy style, just thinking about scenes now are making me laugh! Like from Season 1 where Boyce and Martin meet each other in a corrider and greet each other by going Martyyy, Boyceeee and then doing a dance hahahahahahaha!!!!! Hillariously funny show!!!    :laff:     :laff:     :laff:     :laff:    :laff:

Me too!!  Heehee...

Now I really can't decide whether I want Caroline to be with Mac or Guy... Hmm, tricky...

Relieved about Mac's 'son' though. That's a load off my mind (and Caroline's)!
Guy was so cute in the toilets too. Aw, bless him!

Ok so here are some more thoughts about Friday’s episode of Greenwing.

My favourite funny moments:
Sue with the puppet
Boyce gave Statham the kiss of life Squee!
Carline kisses Sue after sue told her that Mackenzie is not Mac’s son
Statham pouring coffee in his behind
Statham embarrass Guy and Martin when he mentioned his sexual encounter with Joanna.

Now I was glad that Holly left when Mac finds out that she dyed Mackenzie’ hair. So I thought that there could be a chance for him and Caroline but it sort of ruined again when Sue that she is carrying Mac’s baby. That got Mac pissed off and he doesn’t believe her and it also got Caroline upset. Awww Guy is just so cute when he told Caroline that he really likes her so very much.

I think Alan and Boyce should be a couple because they are made for each other. Boyce in the nurse’s outfit was really hot. They both are hot. Com on writers make them a couple please.

From Green Wing Wikipedia:
However, it is believed that there will not be a third series because both the cast and the writers have new projects, and it may be difficult to continue to come up with funny yet feasible plot lines.

NOOOOOO!!! They can't do that to us!! There's no way they could possibly leave all these plotlines unresolved!!

*pant pant*

On the series one DVD they have bios for the cast and crew, and on one of them she said she was trying to convince them to do Green Wing 3... I didn't get it 'cause I thought they obviously would. Aw, I really really hope they do!  :(

You guys should go and see Confetti in the cinema because it is brillaint and I went to see it today.

I thought it was really good and it was also really funny. Stephen Mangan character is very much like Guy, and he is just so good looking in this movie. You will see a lot of nakedness Olivia Colman (Harriet) and Mark Heap (Statham) is in it and he is gorgeous.

Okay, I'm gonna forego criticising the speed up/slow down wankery of this show, given that it doesn't actually affect the comedy per se (although it is a rather heavy-handed attempt to forge its own style), and get straight down to the actual comedy content. Where is it?

Acting-wise, it's a cross between your Office style naturalism and your Smack The Pony style overacting, neither of which are brilliant points of inspiration in themselves and neither of which gel together that well at all. Performance-wise, only Mark Heap and Michelle Gomez actually seem like they're doing any work - the rest just come across as so smug and laidback they quash any of the few 'gags' they're given.

As for the material, it's mostly throwaway sketches stretched over several minutes to the point where their underwritten nature is highly visible in the seams. Scenes like Tamsin Greig's character singing "You Really Got Me" to try and impress Rhind-Tutt ramble on aimlessly as though they couldn't think of a punchline for the scene so just told the actors to ham it up in the hope that something funny would emerge. An hour per episode is clearly too long, although even if it was a half hour show I'd be surprised if they managed to make it work.

Sorry if I've brought the whole thread down but someone had to restore the balance!

I gess gw humor is too complex for you puny little mind. Go home and play with your dolls little girl.

I'm downloading it now, looks like it's an hour long, yay!
