Why did Locke have to walk in on Jack in the shower? A GOOD writer would have made it Kate and Sun!
And since they're already good friends and all...

Anyway, it was a good episode, except I don't believe that miracle baby spin for a second.

Yeah, Locke just standing there shaving while Jack was all "Hey dude, I just got out of the shower!" was really unusual. I suppose it was fan-service for all the lady-type fans of Lost. They find Locke sexxxy.

Fz0r, a good writer would have made it Claire "teaching" Sun about pregnancy, when Kate stumbles in. Then the Hatch Computer activates its speaker system and "bow chikka bow wow."

Seriously, there are so many attractive people on the island. It's not even funny anymore. But its still hot.

Ha! For all those who say this series never reveals anything: Judging from Locke's glances southwards at a very naked Jack, i'm guessing he's already solved one of the island's 'biggest' mysteries.

*Ahem*

Solid fun all round in that ep, with heaped doses of great story, characters and humour. I'm lovin' that Gale bastard, he's a great addition to the ensemble. And Jin! Gotta love the island for having the ability to fix a man's busted nads, dude.

It's a good thing for Michael that he's somewhere missing on the island. When Jin finds out he's the baby's daddy, he'll form his own type of hunting party.

So, have we decided *how* Sun got pregnant? Island mystery (like Locke's legs), pregnancy from Other Korean Guy (forget his name), or pregnancy from someone else on the island (ie, Hurley)?

Was it just me, or was this ep flashback-lite? If so, I hope it indicates a trend. If this show is to have any kind of longevity, the writers are going to be killing themselves trying to cram in more crazy-ass backstory for everybody within two more seasons.

That said, good ep. I was surprised to see those balloon wreckage clips in the previews -- I saw pics of the set leaked on digg a few weeks ago and thought they looked fake.

Also, priceless lines from Henry about nobody asking questions on the island. Seriously, writers. People have this thing, called curiosity...

The flashbacks are there for a reason. (D'uh!)

I say that there are to kinds of flashback in this show, those to introduce a character and those to give some additional info to understand a current situation.

But of course it's more interesting to see what's happening now then what has happened to them in the past.

This episode was okay, although nothing really happened. Then again, what revelations can you expect from an episode called "The whole truth"?   :p

Obviously they're there for a reason. But when you get a backstory like Kate's, which only gets more convoluted and nonsensical with each revelation, you start to wonder.

That's not good writing though, it's like the latter day Simpsons where one of the characters says, "boy this sure doesn't make sense!" then shrugs and winks at the camera before riding off on a unicorn. They still aren't improving the annoying writing, they are just rubbing it in our faces.

Also, the point of the flashbacks is to prolong the run of the show, not vice versa. The writers/creators have said that otherwise the show would get boring and run out of ideas a lot more quickly.

-Anyone here actually think Gale is an "Other"?
-Me and my teacher were discussing this (she is the only one who really watches it as intently as I do), and I think she mentioned something about a plan. (I totally forgot what she said.) But I do remember telling her that it really looks like he is, so he probably isn't. I guess we'll find out soon enough...

In a little coincidence, I just watched an ep of Law & Order: SVU that had our dear Henry Gale on as a child molesting murderer. Doesn't reflect too kindly on him, does it?  :p

Eyedol, there's gonna be new episodes for the next three weeks. Honest. The producers got pretty fed up with all the complaining (remember: basic math shows that when there's 24 episodes per season and 36 weeks in a television season to spread it over, you're not gonna get a new episode every week) and decided to convince ABC into giving them a four-episode block.

Killer, or what?

Three weeks, actually. Which will be followed by four weeks of new episodes, the last being a double bill for the finale which will round out the season.

Wait, so there will be two more new episodes of 'Lost' airing consecutively (counting this week's), but after that, there is gonna be yet another three week break? God damn, ABC should just start airing 'Lost' in January, so there aren't as many breaks.

If it wasn't for the goodness of RSS torrents, I wouldn't bother keeping track of the show. The scheduling is just rediculous. I showed the ABC promo to my sister, and the thing that surprised her the most was the date of the next episode.

Speaking of promos, I just saw a (new?) promo for Lost on CTV. It was basically Locke listening to a distorted woman's voice count down before the lockdown that was in the ABC promo.  Looks to be an interesting episode on that alone.

-An incredible episode. I hope this gets higher ratings than last week's episode. 'Lost' used to average 20 million viewers, but since those damn breaks started, it's been going down.
-I would do an episode review and other shit, but I am just too damn lazy. However, I do have some theories and questions, that if anyone knows and is kind enough, I would like answered. (As for the episode, I'd give it a 101/100.)

^Yeah, that woman did look and sound very familiar, but I couldn't place it. And I knew when Locke's dad (does he have a name?) mentioned conning people, that it had something to do with Sawyer, but I just could not place what that connection was. Thanks for the info.

Man, there's so much buzz at the moment about the diagram - with decent HD screencaps you can read virtually the whole thing, and there's some damned interesting things written on there. We have the name of a new Dharma station and its logo (The Flame) and the name of the medical hatch (The Staff) just for starters. Oh, and there's a possibility that Ol' Smokey is actually named Cerberus.

If anyone fancies looking over it, here's  a link to a 6MB PNG of the whole thing.

I stole this image off the Wikipedia homepage for Lost, which means it's highly unlikely Wiki will crash.

I think the balloon was used to drop the food, but then other people are acting like the food drop happened when the timer got down to 0... what do you guys think?

The blast doors came down because of the food drop. The crackly announcement coming through the speakers sounded like instructions, most likely telling the guys in the hatch to go into the computer room until the drop was complete. It's probably one of the protocols of the experiment that the station operators have no contact with anyone else (as per what was said on the spliced orientation film). The fact that the timer ran down at that time was coincidental, and probably a natural danger when the supply drop lasts for an hour or so. This line of reasoning is supported by the writing on the diagram, which states that  the lockdown occurs during restocking.
