Is there a list of movies that were released in 2005 somewhere? If there is, a link would be much appreciated.

Hmmm... Those are very useful. I know it's a movie site, but I can't find a list of the movies released in 2005 there. And from what I tried to find, it's not even there.

EDIT: <http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/index2005.html>. Google is useful after all.

Revenge of the Sith was my favorite of the year.

I thought Sin City was pretty terrible.  Not the worst ever I'm sure but the worst movie I've seen this year.

I haven't seen a shitload of films still, but King Kong is the best this year.  I liked Revenge of the Sith a lot, but it certainly had little problems that are universal to the whole Star Wars series.

Worst....who knows really.  I avoid obviously shitty films like the plague, so honestly I just can't comment.  I've probably seen something really awful this year (perhaps something from 2004 that I rented), but in general I avoided the really awful stuff.

I don't see many (modern) movies, at least compared to everyone in here. But my ratio of good to bad is much better than everyone else's,too, which makes me feel good. I saw Sin City, but won't mention it 'cause certain segments were cool while others blew.

Best-
Ice Harvest
Munich

Worst-
Revenge of the Sith
Batman Begins

It was generally kind of boring, with some parts being just short of nauseating. I'm tired of this new "arty" style of violence that involves dancing instead of fighting and a shitty story.

I watched it in bursts so far and I got sick of it when they started arguing after the 2 months or whatever it was they were waiting.

I really didn't see that many movies this year. But from the six I will quickly go over, all were good.

{#1}Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
-In my opinion, this was a good movie. Although the non-action scenes in the middle were boring, especially because of the stiff acting. Overall though, it was a good movie. (Saw it 5 times in theatres, 2 times on DVD, for a total of 7 times.)

{#2}Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
-Johnny Depp was awesome as Willy Wonka. The movie was cool overall, and the backstory to Wonka was a nice added touch. Although I liked the original Oommpa Loompas better.

{#3}King Kong
-Nothing to say, it was good. Although the part when she was on the skyscraper with Kong made me wonder if she would kiss him. Jack Black was also cool.

{#4}Batman Begins
-Kinda boring, but I realize the movie was about showing how Bruce Wayne became Batman. Factoring that, it was a good movie. Also, the villian wasn't that good, but that's just me.

{#5}The War Of The Worlds
-It was good. I can't say anything more.

{#6}Just Friends
-Again, a good movie. I can't say anything more.

To make use of the Clint Eastwood Scale -

The Good

Star Wars - Best. Movie. Of the year.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Funny.
The Corpse Bride - Awesome. Simply awesome.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - It was from 2004, but was so good, it caried over into this year. Or maybe this year's movies were so forgetful...

The Bad

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Pretty good, but not great.
War of the Worlds - Wasn't as great as expected. Maybe Cruise should learn the Secrets of Scientology Success in the Entertainment Industry from Beck.

And...
The Ugly

Herbie Fully Loaded - Ugly can't describe this film.
Yours, Mine, and Ours - Worst remake of the year.
Doom - Even worse than The Cat in the Hat The Movie's game.

And now for my still to see list...
Still to See: The List

Fun with Dick and Jane
The Producers
40 Year Old Virgin
King Kong

Off the top of my head I think I saw four movies this year.  They dont let me out much...

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Odd, but funny and nicely filmed.  I've never read the book but I have been told it's a laugh.  Wanted to strangle the chick though.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Very, very well done.  Johnny Depp AND chocolate, what more could a girl want??

Star Wars Ep. III
I love star wars, so this was gonna be good anyway...

Narnia
Lovely cinematography, nice story but I really could have done without all the obvious Christian undertones.  Yeah I know the book is like that too and it's a sign of the time it was written but I still could have done without it.

Narnia was written AS an analogy to the story of Christ. CS Lewis was a Christian author. It's reflecting on the guy that wrote it more so than the time period. So no it couldn't have done without it because that was the entire purpose of the book.

anyway...

The Good
Wedding Crashers
Narnia
King Kong
Mr & Mrs Smith

The Bad/The Disappointing/The WTF?!
Red Eye
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Star Wars 3
Aeon Flux
The Family Stone

Kingdom Of Heaven
Star Wars Ep lll (Big let down for me)
Transporter 2
Harry Potter & GOF (It sucked unfortunately)
Madagascar

.... and The Ugly
Land Of The Dead
Doom
Unleashed
Elektra

Worst honorable mention: HHGttG, just because I'm a novel fanboy.

You all... liked War of the Worlds? Oh. Wow. I thought the effects were great, but the movie sucked in basically every other way. I had a headache from that girl constantly shrieking, not to mention the overplayed teenageboy<->father angst.

Being a disgustingly obsessed fangirl, I have to express my love of Potter and the Goblet of Fire, HHGTTG, and of course, Episode III (Which, admittedly, I just watched.)

Honorable mentions out to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  For the record, I don't see too many new movies.

Good ones:

Serenity (i didnt like the movie, but i like Firefly so it goes here)
StarWars EpIII. (yes, i like it)
Batman Begins
War of the worlds (bad but i like the history so same as serenity)
hijwhatever guide to the galaxy

Bad Ones:

the weekend
Stealth

For god sake, nobody mentions Stealth?
this movie is a HUGE step back..
I can go with the Talon plane wich does 20Gs or something easily. I can go with that HAL9000 computer embebed in a R/C ducted fan plane..
I CANNOT stand:
"So the HAL9000 has gone nuts, and is going to strike rusia, so i go after him before it does any harm, so i catch up with him, convince him that is wrong, he accepts it, but look: we are violating rusian air-space and here comes three rusian SU-37 wich are defending their air space against two invader planes. So what we do?, we try to get radio contact? nooo, We kill all three rusian planes like they are the bad guys..
