Just got the Jurassic Park Trilogy for less than $20.  That was the only way I'll ever get Jurassic Park III, since it wasn't as good as the previous two.

3/28-  Just got a few cool stuff.  I got Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker Uncut.  I also got better editions of Fantastic Four 2005 and The Shawshank Redemption.

4/3--Just got The Robocop Trilogy.  I just saw it for under $15 and decided to grab it.  i love the first film, part 2 was okay and part 3 was a disappointment.

4/9 I got a lot of stuff today.

Robocop (20 Anniversary 2-Disc Edition)- I got this since the Trilogy boxset only has the extended version of the first movie, while this 2 disc has both the original and extended version along with new features not in the trilogy.

The Karate Kid Collection-- This cost me $7.  I figured I might get it before the remake comes out.

Total Recall-- Awesome movie, nuff said

Who Framed Roger Rabbit--Awesome classic, nuff said.

4/10-- I just got G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Complete Collectors Set [The Complete Series] in the mail.  It's less than $100 right now on amazon.

4/13--Just got Alien Quadrilogy.  9 discs and it's awesome.

5/31 managed to get The Running Man 2 disc edition.  I've never seen this film entirely, but lied the special features on this edition and decided to get it.

Just got my first blu ray disc.  Sherlock Holmes (Blu Ray) which also includes the DVD version as well.  Just got She-Ra The Complete Series.  Yeah, I used to like that show, not as much as He-Man, but it was still a decent show and She-Ra and hot.

6/22-- I just got Planet of the Apes (original 5 films Blu Ray set).  I ended up selling my Planet of the Apes DVD since this set is way better.

tweek: given that around 80% of the cost to the consumer is getting the disks onto store shelves in the first place, I assume it's mainly a cost-saving measure for the publishers and distributors. Were it standard practice, it would also make better use of retail space in stores (no need for separate bluray/dvd sections), though since it's not, it probably just complicates things a bit (do they put it with blurays, or dvds, or both?)

Click the pic to watch the opening title on youtube. Unlike, well, most other anime series ever produced, the opening sequence is in the same style and quality as the actual animation in the show.

Beautiful animation, original setting with some novel story elements and interesting characters with, y'know, more than one dimension in most cases. 26 episodes with (gasp) a satisfying conclusion and, as far as I know, no tacked-on OVAs that spoil it.

Ya it is a great series, the animation is very well done.

You could find it on dvd, but it seems it would cost me a great deal of money. I do not know if its worth the investment. You can find a couple volumes for sale here and there on different websites. What a chore it would be to get a hold of. So ya impossible lol.

Baccano! is pretty cool and is being released soon it is £26.99 ($34.49 R1 from amazon.com) for all sixteen episodes... you can watch it for nothing in Funimation's YouTube Channel to see if you like it.

Bend-err  suggested most of Satoshi Kon's films, I'd also recommend getting Perfect Blue, a great psychological thriller and the perfect film to show to people who think animation is just for children

The main reason, when I got into anime, that is all people would talk about. I got sick of hearing about it, I never bought it. I have plans in the future to buy it, I have just been buying other anime lately. The next time I buy some, I will definitely pick a copy up. I have heard of Perfect Blue, it sounded pretty good. I will check Baccano! out for sure.

Well, there's Tenchi Muyo! for starters.  Also I don't see any Macross/Robotech on your list.  No Gundam either.  Do you just not like big stompy robots?

If you liked xxxHolic you should also watch Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.  The anime series don't really cross-over with each other the way the manga did, but Yuko does show up in Tsubasa from time to time.
