Are these sit-coms reverse opposites of one another?  I think so.  Think about it.  In All In The Family Archie and Edith were ultra-conservative and their kids were libreal.

On Family Ties, it's like the other way around, The parents are hippies, and Alex P. Keaton (Michael J. Fox) is conservative.  The only difference I could see is their kids.  AITF's kids were adults, and FT's kids were teenagers and a kid.

I know,I like All in the Family way better than Family Ties though. But I think it's funny too how Archie and edith are conservative, but on Family Ties it's the other way around.
