Well, this is a new poll (obviously) to replace the old one I made in 2001 which was coated in (amongst other things)email notification. I've learnt my lesson (and the one about Dinner Ladies)and here is a shiny new poll.

Please kill the old one.

Also, I haven't made my choice yet.

New people that haven't read the old thread:
I realise Father Ted isn't British. I think it can be lumped in with this humour. Also, it has one British writer.

I haven't seen Only Fools and Horses since I was 8. It's not on the poll because I hate you.

I don't know a few of the ones that seem popular with the Brits because I am not British. I live in Australia.

The Young Ones are okay but Bottom is better.

No Goons? Bah, I'll settle for Monty Python then. A wide range of sketches from silly to satrical along with a few classic movies worth owning.

*votes in own poll*
Yeah, it's Monty Python. I mean, Black Books is brilliant- they all are, but Monty Python is the granddaddy.
Glad my opinion hasn't changed since 2001.

Blackadder.
The Office should be on the poll as one, although Blackadder still gets it.

I have to go with Blackadder.  Monty Python and Fawlty Towers duke it out for second place.

... out of those.  Obviously, Spaced is top for me.

Sorry Melll, but if you send me region 4 Spaced DVD's I'll happily put it on a poll.
If it's any good...
Also, send money.

Cosmic J: I didn't put The Office in because I am angry with the writer/producer for selling out to Americans and tainting the series.

Um, you know I totally would and all, but...c'mon, you can't argue with Monty Python! Even if I do love Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey madly.

Go Pythons!

Very hard to chose between Blackadder and Fawlty Towers, but I went with Basil because he was more consistantly funny.

MPFC. Aside from that, I haven't seen a lot of those shows aside from the terrible AF and an episode or two of Black Books (which I think they showed late night on tv for like a month). Wasn't knocked out by it. Fawlty Towers is alright, but no where near MP.

Little Britain no doubt. At least as far as new stuff is concerned. FT and stuff is kind of old.

As far as new stuff is concerned, I'm loving Extras. I always liked Ricky Gervais since his radio show and (sell-out or not) still do. Not to say LB isn't great, but it doesn't appeal to my sense of humour as much.

Also, you forgot Phoenix Nights!

What about Vicar of Dibly?! Here's a short sample (Vicar-Geraldine  Virga-Alice) :
(In Geraldine's living room, phone rings, Alice answers)
Alice: Hello, Geraldine's phone, well not the phone itself but Geraldine's phone meaning Geraldine's usually the person answering it. I would have said Alice's phone but I can't because it's not mine...

Geraldine: Who is it?

Alice: I don't know they just hung up, people are weird aren't they

Geraldine: that I can't deny.

Otherwise I'd say Spaced but given the choices I'd go with Monty Python.

You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese.
