Well being 40kms away from Adelaide I have seen the Futurama ads once and heard it once, I was playing UT2004 at the time so I wasn't looking. But I do hope that we do get Family Guy as well and stays at that time. When season 1 and 2 were on they started half an hour after I left to go to the skate park, real annoying 'cause I wanted to watch Family Guy, I only saw 3 episodes  :(

That new South Park episode was funny, but disturbing and disgusting too. "That Dolphin's got my scrotom!"

Monday night's episode was more story-based than joke based. Being the Season 2 premiere, the episode had to set up a lot of plots for that season. Not to mention the fact it relies heavily on backstory and you came in at the 23rd episode, so a whole buttload of funny references to old episodes would've gone completely over your head.

Do yourself a favour, watch it from the start. Get the first 3 episodes and if you don't like the show THEN, you're crazy.

I may have told you guys that was the first episode of ad I saw ever and I thourght the show sucked. Then I watched the pilot and maybe thourght the show was awesome and that might have been a bad episode, then I watched it again after watching all of season one and thourght it kicked ass. Channel 7's airing was the 3rd time I watched that episode and it's still gold.

Spy, a bit off-topic, but is The O.P. working for you? It won't load for me - it just takes forever then eventually gives up. I haven't been able to access it for 2 days.

... Uhhh, I think you meant to post that in the AD thread. It's not airing down here for another year.  :p

And Zogonif, I refuse to believe that. You can't judge AD by one episode, especially one like that. I didn't like it when I first saw it either, and I'll admit it took a while to get into (I didn't become a fan until the tenth episode, Pier Pressure), but once I did get into it, I realised it was the greatest show ever.

Isn't that normal for Australia?
I've got to admit I'm not a big fan of AD and I have seen about 12 episode, I'll only watch it if it already on that channel

American Dad will be on Channel 7. If they're both starting the same night on the same channel, and are by the same creator, I think it's safe to say they'll be paired up together.

Family Guy was cancelled, yes, but it was cancelled in the US, not here. Season 3 was its last season in 2001 (which was the season that aired here at midday) until the show was resurrected last year and Season 4 premiered in May of this year. This is the season we'll be getting.

Before that, Family Guy had a good prime-time spot on Channel 7, but not for very long. The eastern staters got half-way through Season 2, and we only got the first two episodes before the show was taken off for the Olympics (understandable - but it was never put back on after the Olympics finished).

Anyone watching that MTV Europe Music Award thing? I was, for about 15 minutes, before I got thoroughly sick of the whole thing. Borat is a pretty great host though- his Madonna-transvestite gag raised a laugh (so apt!), likewise his introduction of 'international singing prostitutes' the Pussycat Dolls. The rest though, rubbish. I can't help but laugh though at the posturing and posing that goes on in the hardcore (    ) world of mainstream rap and hip-hop*, so I enjoyed watching presentation of the hip-hop award.

*I don't listen to undergroud hip-hop or anything like that, and if I heard any I'd probably hate it even more than the mainstream stuff. But as we all know, mainstream pop culture is so much easier a target than anything truly alternative.

Hey, seeing as I've been gone for ages, I want to know what everyone thought of the Ronnie Johns Half Hour. I thought it was one of the funniest Australian sketch shows since the mid-90s. Opinion?

That show makes me feel somthing bad, because it is bad!
Just so pathetic.

The music awards I only fliked back and forth from "the fugitive" and "mighty joe" and somtime the awards.

The only part that I saw and liked on it was when Gorillaz took out "Best Group" the guy with the award said "Best group? And we don't even exsist"!

Ahh classic, I was waiting for that.

Also, "Double the fist" is back on, but there repeats, but who cares.  :)

I wouldn't wish the "European MTV Music Awards" on my worst enemy. Borat was the only watchable part of the whole pathetic show. I only watched it for five minutes, but did a single European band actually win an award or was it just another excuse to give Greenday and Madonna more suck-up screen time?

I have this theory regarding the Ronnie Johns Half Hour Show. For every great sketch they do, they have to suck all the funny out of another sketch for it to happen.
Good skits: "My name is Poppy and this is my...", the Southern genius, and the Chopper sketches (actually, the Chopper skit is probably the funniest thing I've seen come out of Australia in years)
Bat-shit terrible: The fucking English idiots kicking each other in the balls. Seriously, it's not funny, at all. The political debates on the ABC are better written.

I watched the last 20mins of the MTV awards last night. Besides all the crapness, what I really found lame was SOAD's performance in the end.
They weren't hard at all. The guitars sucked, they were jumping around like they didn't belong there and the vocals were so incredibly bad. Thank god I didn't pay to see that gig. It was a pretty poor performance by my standards.

I watched a bit of the MTV awards last night - as much as I could handle. Then come dude was all "George Bush" and the crowd was all "booooo" and I was all "shut the fuck up". Seriously, they live in Portugal, they shouldn't give a fuck about George Bush, just like I don't give a fuck about whoever the hell is the leader dude of Portugal.

Fuck you Portugal, my new worst enemy.  When I'm president of the world, I'm so letting Spain take you ever.

Portugal = worst country ever and should be part of Spain.

SOAD are such a bunch of trihard wankers now.
I was a fan when they released thier 1st self titled album then Toxisity, but when they released "Steal this album" I lost intrest so fast that it wasen't funny. TRIHARDS.

Now I'm off to eat a tub of ice cream, damn heat.

Wow, people actually WATCHED that MTV shit? I thought you all had more commonsense than to tune into the very thing that's dumbing down all modern youth.  :nono:

And the Ronnie Johns Half-Hour sucked. So did The B-Team, which was a shame since Merrick & Rosso Unplanned was great. Those guys are only funny when it's improvised. What the hell is with Australia's inability to come out with a decent sketch comedy?
