Fazey: The originator of the "to cause to die" theory was OneHundredEight at the bottom of this page. She goes on to explain her reasoning in the links provided, but this page, second postprovides the most consise summation. It seems your translation program accounted for a lot of the meaning, but in a jumbled-up way. But, I mean, just take a look at the entry in her dictionary. It's pretty damned convincing.

Man, can these Dharma people get any more pompous?  Convincing the hatch people that they're going to die if they fail to press the buttons is one thing, but to taunt them with obscure, Egyptian runes instead of good old (well, less old) English is cruel.  Frankly, I agree with the other message board--not to be confused with the Others' message board--"DEATH" or "DOOM!" would have been just as effective.

Now we have to go back and find an Egyptian connection to Dharma, Hanso, or Vincent.

As we all know, Vincent is a dog. And in Ancient Egypt dogs were related to Anubis, the Lord of the Underworld.

Anubis in hieroglphys, but it could also be translated as young dog.

And everything that has do to with the Underworld and the Dead has to be evil. Which brings us back to Vincent...      :evillaugh:

Btw, was one of the US soldiers in the flashback (the one who interrogated Sayid first) the Marshal from the pilot?
Nevermind, I know now that this soldier was
What a small world we (or rather they) live in...

I think you have mixed two things up here.

In season 1, Claire is kidnapped by Ethan and gets amnesia.

Did they ever resolve this (and if so, in what episode)? Did she get her full memory back? Did she never get it back? Did she get it partially back?

What's the name of the guy in the Dharma video, and does he really have a fake hand, or is that someone else?

The guy in the video is named Dr. Candle, and yes, he has a fake hand.

Also, so far it has not been revealed what Claire expierenced during her captivity.

This probably due the fact that the scriptwriters were unable to come up with something good, thus Claire does not know what happened.    :p

Gookie, I thought Sayids girlfriend was in the place that flight 815 was flying to (LA? I forget for some reason) and that's the whole point he was on the plane in the 1st place?

Funny that they always use his GF in order to make Sayid do something he doesn't want to do...

Well, I knew that we never found out what happened while she was kidnapped. I was more wanting to know if her memory of events after the crash ever came back. She was all, "Who are you? Are we friends? I was just on an airplane!"

Did she just re-learn to be friends with Jack, Charlie, etc or did she get all her pre-kidnapping memories back?

VF: The next episode addresses this, actually. It's a Claire-cetric episode named "Maternity Leave" in which she starts to remember what happenned to her.

And, yes, she pretty much had to re-learn her friendships with eveyone.

I must have been kidnapped by the Others because I don't remember anything about previews after the last episode.

According to one of the podcasts though, the numbers will probably never be explained. They compared them to God, as in they are the explaination for a lot of stuff, but their origin/etc will never fully be explained. You just gotta have faith, I guess.

If the numbers are never explained, I'll be plenty disappointed. But if that unfortunately does happen, I'll still like the show.

I personally hope that the numbers decide to go work on movie projects and sign a contract to only perform in a handful of episodes during the final season and then spend that season being totally wasted standing around on cliffs in dream sequences.

Mmm, 4, 15, 16 and 42 will do that, but i reckon 8 and 23 won't sell out. I dunno i just get a good vibe from those two, they seem like really nice numbers.

JJ Abrams used to experiment with his own CG on Alias... has anyone spotted any CG companies in the Lost credits?

My god PEEL is moving slow lately.

So, next episode Maternity Leave, we know what that is about, what about the others? "The whole truth" - Will a lot of puzzle pieces fall into place? knowing LOST probably not
"Lockdown" - A lame pun?

Again?

I doubt it.
Right now I wouldn't expect any final revelation.

Think about it:
We got to see the smoke monster - which simply raised more questions.
We bascially saw what happens when the countdown reaches zero...or did we not?

Anyway, teasers are called so for a reason.   :p

I still don't like the fact that Locke was able to input the numbers AFTER the countdown ended, without any trouble. (Or, any visible trouble.)

According to TVTome.com, "Maternity Leave" will air *next* week, while "The Whole Truth" won't air until April. Is ABC trying to kill any momentum this show has or what?

no no, it was an "Encore Screening!". The writers are probably stuck. They're working on the last episode and they've realised they have no clue how to finish it.

JJ "How about we end with a cliffhanger...where...the counter reaches ZERO!!!"
Damon"Hmm, we've already done that 6 times this season"
JJ"Okay, but this time...VINCENT holds Locke back."
...
Damon"BRILLIANT!...wait, that won't work, we don't want to reveal he's evil till the third season"
