What does everyone think of those cartoons that are spin-offs of older ones where it has all the main auxillary characters as kids?  Shows such as: A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Flintstone Kids, Tiny Toons, and Muppet Babies?

Recently I've heard of one where it has the Looney Tunes as babies!  What's next?  A cartoon about the Super Mario Brothers as kids?  Or a Simpsons spin-off where Homer and Marge are kids?

I highly doubt that there will be a Simpsons spinoff with Homer and Marge as kids. Why would they after they've made fun of spinoffs so much during the course of the series?

But you are right, spinoffs with kids are fucking horrible.

Especially when it's a reverse spinoff like Rugrats: All Growed Up and all the kids turn out to be trendy shit eating losers.

I've seen a little bit of that "All Grown-Up" when my sister and I were babysitting our little cousin in South Carolina.  I think the kids on that show all acted like being an in-crowd following popular trendy is the most important thing in the world.  Why is it the characters always have to act so stereotypical in that perpective?

Another thing I hate about cartoons like that are how it takes place in modern-day era.  And those cartoons came out in the fifties and sixties.  They day a "Mario Brothers kids" cartoon comes out
will be the day I throw lava rocks at my TV!

No, I don't like those kinds of cartoon too! They are not enjoyable to watch at all.

I'd love to see the looney toons as sperm and eggs. I bet there were quite a few funny stories from that time!

"Tiny Toons" was good when I was a kid, but it wasn't really a "Loony Toons" as kids thing in the manner the other shows were.  But all those other shows do indeed suck ass.  End of conversation.

I love the Muppets, but Muppet Babies are crap(except for that scene from the movie, where they are babies. That was really cute. But the cartoon sucked!).

Sure, it had Howie Mandel and Dave Coulier. But that just goes to show you that even the best voice talent in the world can't save an awful show. I admit that I would do the Nanny, though. Man she was hot.

Also, Tiny Toons doesn't count.

I loved the Muppet Babies. I used to watch it all the time with my brother.

As for cartooon spinoffs like "All Grown-Up" and stuff, they all suck. And that goes to sequels for classic cartoon movies made by Disney, like the Lion King. I mean they are classics on their own, don't ruin it with a bad sequel. But that's my opinnion.

i admit i like Tiny Toons. But they don't count because they were original characters and not technically a spin off.

As far as muppet babies go, i didn't understand it. Were they all orphans? What happened to Skeeter? She doesn't seem to exist as an adult. Did the Nanny have a head? So many questions left unanswered!

Me too. For the Baby Loony Tunes, is Granny their gardiuen? Don't they have parents? I hate that! And I wish they'd have a really good spin-off.

As for "All Grown Up" utter crap! I mean the only good thing is that it proves that Chuckie isn't gay. And I mean by that in the original Rugrats, not before Kimmi and Dil came, but in the original was it me or did he always have to have Tommy save him like a damsel in distress? I want a spin-off that is not obvious and preidcable! The day that they make a real spin-off is the day Futurama comes back on the air.

Good point...

Haha, take some of your own  medicine biznatch!

Spinoffs are like sequels, usually worse than the original.

Did you even watch the Rugrats? Several episodes of the original show revolved around Chuckie having a girlfriend.

I saw one where Chuckie had a girlfriend. And although Spacedal11 is no longer 11, no I was still to young when the original show came out.

TINY TOONS looked original enough and played without relying too much on being a younger version of the charaters. They acted a little different too.

MUPPET BABIES was just grand.

Lets see how stupid I am. I thought I was talking about evil Chuckie for a moment. Than I realized this isn't the horror movie thread. Damn am I stupid.
