Thanks for filling in the details, Slacky.  I had forgotten most of that stuff.  It's been a while since I read that.

Awesome, and this whole time I thought you just ignored me. <3

Anyways, I really really really need to read some EU. A lot.
My mom is nagging me to read, so why the hell not?
Exactly.
I'm thinking of something involving Imperials, as I've always been a big fan (And I don't mean killing them, dammit).

Unlike M0le, I've seen (several times, might I add) the original movies.

Something about the Empire then? Well, the best EU book involving the Empire is the Timothy Zahn series of the books, with Grand Admiral Thrawn in. There is 3 of them, Heir to The Empire, Dark Force Rising and a 3rd one which I cannot remember the name of. It also has a dark Jedi Master clone, 200 Dreadnaughts, Talon Kaarde, The Noghri and Mara Jade in it.

There's also a series with the cloned Emperor and Admiral Daala too, I haven't read them yet though...

The Last Command is the third book of Zahn's trilogy. His two part series (set a good while after the first, but still dealing with Thrawn) is just as good, if not better, though it does incorporate a lot of the EU that happens before it, so it may not be the best to jump into.  Great books, though.

The series with Admiral Daala (Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi Academy Trilogy) is kind of odd. I used to really like them, but I re-read them recently, and they really weren't that good anymore, I'm not sure why. They seemed... silly, I guess. There's also DarkSaber, (also written by KJA), which is set fairly soon after the trilogy, it almost seems like a fourth book in many ways, and it bridceges part of the gap between Zahn's first and second serieseses.  Quality-wise, it's in the same boat as the Jedi Academy Trilogy. I used to love it, but now it seems quite silly. YMMV.

I'd definately start with the Thrawn trilogy.

From the kid's series?

Pfft. Ask a question about one of the GROWN-UP novels (about spaceships, and lasers, and magic).

Jedi Academy wasn't a kid series silly. In was in the before days where the Classic Main characters were invincible. Where you always knew that they were JUST going to get by. Before the NJO changed everything in the EU...

Now, if you want a kid series of EU books, Read that three book SPIN trilogy. With such names as Mount Yoda, Grand Moss Hissa and Zorba the Hutt.

Oh, and The Glove of Darth Vader still sounds awesome to me.

Not Jedi Academy, Young Jedi Knights, which WAS a kids series.

And I say with full confidence that I'm a better writer than Kevin J. bloody Anderson.

Okay that Slacky, right a fanfic which Han forces Chewbacca to change his hair. And make it somehow, involve a whomp rat.

*Sigh* Do you want a new question?  YJK is legit EU material, but if you choose to have such a gap in your Star Wars knowledge, just let me know and we'll consider it voided.

Actually, my original post was supposed to be a joke. I guess I played it a little too deadpan.

By all means, if anyone knows the answer...

Moff Dirsa: Came up with the original idea, provides resources and politcal knowhow.

Major Tierce: In charge of the tactical/military aspects of the operation. Actually a clone of a Royal Guardsman grown with a portion of Thrawn's brain - and this, his tactical genius - in his head.

Flim: The impersonator. Looks and sounds exactly like Thrawn, due to operations and what not. Pretty smooth actor, but no skill with politics or military stuff.

I thought I saw a Star Wars shop on the Strip in Vegas but it turns out it was an M&M (the candy) shop that had Star Wars related M&M crap in it.

And I was this close to buying an original Boba Fett action figure for 50 bucks in a movie collectibles store.  :hmpf:
