Here's my question then:
What is the proper name for the Y-Wing?

I said proper name for the Y-Wing. You don't order a damn Y-Wing by just calling it a Y-Wing and it's model type, you'd need to mention the company who makes it or you'd look like a proper idiot.

Most of those are correct, but... Darth Rage? Darth Scarz? Darth Seer? I'm not saying you're wrong, but a source would be nice, as I'm reasonably well-versed in Star Wars lore, and I've never heard of any of them. Also, also Slackjawedmoron you got the designation wrong my one is right ! Not according to the Official site databank entry.

Assuming the names on that list are all actual Sith names: Maul, Rage, Seer, and Bane are regular English words. Sidious is just "insidious" with the first syllable dropped. Scarz is obviously just "scars" with a stupid Z instead of an S. Tyrannus is Greek for tyrant, as anyone who likes dinosaurs could tell you. I remember reading somewhere that when George Lucas was coming up with a name for Darth Vader, he wanted a name that sounded suggestive of both "dark father" and "death water". Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to Revan and Malak, but the "mal" in Malak is probably from Latin.

Anyone else tried to match up Star Wars weapons with there inspired WW2 counter parts?
The DL44 is modeled after the Luger.

Ingvild posted not too long ago, I think... So she still exists. Don't remember which thread it was in. "Darth Vader" is neither Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. The only thing I've heard is that Lucas meant it to suggest "Dark Father" @Nurdy: The BlasTech DL-44 was actually made from a German "Broomhandle" Mauser pistol with an attached WWI era German sniper scope manufactured by Hensoldt Wetzlar, a fire extinguisher dispersion nozzle (not a flash supressor as most people think) and an engine part from a model aeroplane as the front grill (the same part that was used for the muzzle of Greedo's blaster). This is for the ANH version of the gun. The BlasTech E-11 was made from a British Sterling submachine gun with... Oh screw it- just go to Parts of Star Wars and click "item" at the bottom. [EDIT]I knew the Mauser and Sterling modifications by heart, though. I think they used windshield wipers on the barrel of the E-11, just like they did on Vader's saber, and not (as they speculate on PartsofSW.com) T-tracks from sliding doors, though that is also possible. I base my theory upon the fact that on some E-11s, the grips aren't glued onto the barrel itself, and that results in them "arcing" between the cooling holes they're inserted into... What always baffled me was that the prop-makers (alledgedly) used windshield wipers off of a Sherman tank for Vader's saber instead of regular everyday wipers.[/url]

I'd say that you should ask Hawk or Ingvild Atropine about that, but I don't know if they she even posts here anymore.

Not according to the Official site databank entry. I got mine from the Star wars Cross section book. As for those other sith lords Darth Rage- Darth Rage became Darth Sidious' new apprentice after Darth Maul died in Episode 1. Darth Rage was eventually killed in a light saber duel with Jedi Master Plo Koon. Darth Scarz- The first known Sith Lord of recorded history Darth Seer- Founder of the modern Sith Order

It's funny because when masked, Vader is voiced by a black guy.
