You sure showed him! Now, Toy Story 2Meh, the little green alien dudes are still the best, but I liked the "No, I am your father" reference... If only I could remember which film it was referring too... C or B, I haven't really put much thought into it.

I ended up seeing Serenity. It wasn't completely awful - quite an achievement given the budget and TV origins. Dialogue-wise, it didn't end up being 'Buffy in Space' like I'd anticipated, but it was annoyingly stilted, and oh so clichéd at points. The effects shots got better as the film progressed, so you could tell they worked on them chronologically - the sequence near the beginning where they're being chased by orcs reevers was excruciatingly slow, with the CGI comping showing up something terrible.
Story and plot wise, I probably would have got more out of it if I'd bothered watching Firefly, but the whole thing never appeared to go anywhere and, like the dialogue, it was full of sci-fi stereotypes and clichés. The whole 'we need to broadcast this tape to save humanity' thing didn't really make for much climactic intensity, especially for a feature film.
It's a shame Firefly was canned. The whole concept looks like it'd make quite an enjoyable TV series. But as a movie, it wasn't very impressive.

Who's mentally disturbed now? "Pssst, Wooter says he is" Pfft! That lonely whining guy? "Shhh! He might infect us all with it!"Anywhoo: Downfall:Excellent, mmmyes, very good. I'm not exactly sure how accurate it is, but now everytime I think about Hitlers last few weeks or days, that's what my mind will go to. Also, his secretarys kinda cute... in an Aryan sort of way. It had enough action and weird characters to not be boring too, just like Schindlers List. Speer was cool, what's his full name and rank or whatever? And Goebbels, the actor who played him scared the pants off me. *shudder* A

DoomMeh, not as bad as I thought it would be, then again, I did lower my expectations slightly before watching. But The Rock is always gonna be cheesy, so I might aswell enjoy it. Karl Urban and Rosamund Pike were cool in it. Urban still hasn't lost his "Eomer Brow", which he carried all the way through THe Bourne Supremecy to this movie! The plot was completely stolen from any generic sci-fi monster PC game: Secret lab, event, SOS message, soldiers sent in, discover bodies, hilarity random violence ensues... etc. The FPS sequence was kind of cool to see. Special effects were ok, but they didn't show the monsters as much as I thought they would, it was far more like Alien than Aliens, I thought. The best line: I'm not supposed to di...*gets dragged off by demon* Heh, tonhue in cheeky! C--The TransporterMore mindless action with dodgy plot. Action sequences were good (mostly the car chase at the start) enough for my expectations again, but I can see how it didn't get much mainstream attention. Statham was very "47"-ish, which was cool. C--

Heathen! The Big Lebowski's a great film, if only for the trip-out sequences. Although I can see what you mean in preferring Fargo to it.
