I'd say Hermes. He's shown himself to be expendable. He only has a bit part in most episodes, and as was mentioned, he doesn't get the hilarious lines other characters do. I love them all but if I had to get rid of one, Hermes would be the guy to go.

Naw, nobody on the list. Zoidberg and Bender are the yin and yang of the show, Leela has that whole Xena warrior princess but stranded-on-the-Island-with-Gilligan demeanor, Amy is, well, she's Amy - hottest ink blot since Roger Rabbit's old lady ! those pink sweats with the "V" cut in the waist and the mid-riff hooded top.....gimmee a minute.....I like Hermes, tally me banana - I might be biased, tho - I like Phil Lamar in any role. Jeez ! Kick Scruffy 2 da curb - he's not funny and I don't think I've ever seen him clean ANYTHING ! What the hell are they payin' him for -ambience ?

Tough call, especially when each of these characters lends something unique to the overall effect of the show.
Whoever chose Bender should really get their head examined if they still consider themselves fans of the series. Bender's character is unique to the cast, which makes him as important as any. The same goes for Leela, Fry, Farnsworth, Zoidberg, Amy, and Hermes.
The most expendable character is Kif, but if Kiff went, the show would lose his comic interactions with Zapp (I noticed he didn't make the list for some reason). The character that needs to go is either Scruffy or Sal. I'm sorry, but those two are nearly identical to each other. How many ill-mannered, guff-speaking work-slackers does this show need? Stupid question...we already know the answer: one. Personally, I'd get rid of both as their characters seem to be concoctions of the worst traits of Bender and Fry.
Sorry, Venus, your pal, Scruffy, is a dud of the highest caliber.

Also, Cubert is annoying and should be killed off before he makes another appearance.

Why IS Cubert in the series? He seems to serve no purpose at all. He should go. I'd consider Zoidberg, but he does have his moments.

But Amy, now that's a shallow character... Don't let Kryten hear that. He'll gut you like a fish. Joking, ofcourse. Maybe? Who dare vote Kif of the show? Kif rocks!!

impact, I dont know whether you've seen "Amazon Women in the Mood" yet, so I put this in spoilers: Well, she did fall for Kif. That shows she has depth, character and emotions. Kif, the Zappers long suffering XO/first officer, and she fall in love with him. She even admits that she likes him, and find him "the sweetest guy she'd ever met" (Slightly misquote?), even before he express his love for her. So there. That act alone made her an incredible more likeable character for me. She's already #2 on my list of favourite female characters (and still no points for guessing who's #1).
