transfering characters to other shows

this is a strange idea, but i like it. i want to see who people think the characters on futurama will relate to on other shows. that sounds confusing i know, but what i mean by it is take fry and see what character he'd be on the simpsons, or another show you like.

here's an example lets use that 70s show,
fry=eric
bender=hyde
zoidberg=fez
leela=donna
amy=jackie

another example, family guy
fry=peter
leela=lois
zapp=Quagmire
bender=brian
amy=that girl at megs school who meg idolise's but who hates meg

i dunno, i dont see much similarities between Bender and Brian other than both being alcholics.

Actually, they're closer to the Giligans island charcters. Well, there are more parrallels there then most shows....

i have always thought of them on giligans island like slackjawedmoron posted and i have never even seen a whole show, but i hear they never get off and i think if you stuck the pe crew on an island they wouldn't get off either even with leela.

There have also been several threads comparing Futurama characters to ones from The Simpsons or Family Guy, but I'm not going to bother searching for those.

Red Dwarf comparisons are pretty common, too.  Fry and Lister are very similar, but it starts to break down when you try to compare the other characters.

Humor me, I've just gotten into Friends so:

Fry=Chandler
Leela=Monica
Amy=Rachel
Bender=Joey
Ross=Zoidberg (That'd be a hoot!)
Phoebe=Drew (I'm only saying this cause she's as stupid as Fry usualy. Plus none of the other girls remind me of her.)

I'm not arrogant. I mean I don't even mention her in all of the threads I post in. If someone would go to the new character thread in Human Resources Dep. you'd know.

Why should they? If you don't want people to ask who she is then it's your responsibility to tell them, not their responsibility to go and find out.

The 70's show comparison works really well (in fact a picture of that would be cool).  And the friends comparison works well enough (cept for the drew, whoever the hell that is).  Fry makes a good lister as well which I say as I watch Red Dwarf....  I don't see futurama characters as family guy or simpsons though really....
