Never saw Kiff gets knocked up a notch before, but if I understand this correctly, Leela is a parent?

Kinda. His children have her DNA but they aren't hers really.

Technically. While she *did* pass her DNA onto Kif’s children I can’t really call her a parent. You really have to watch the episode yourself.

She is a parent biologically, but culturally they're Amy's spawn.

i can't help but wonder what Leela's role would have been once the kids came back onto dry land. God Mother? Aunt? Occasional baby-sitter who seems to take more interest than one would expect from a baby-sitter?

She's a "surrogate mom" as Amy puts it (in a deleted scene that is).

well obviously she's the surrogate mother, but that still doesn't explain what role she wil have in the kid's lives later on.

I would imagine that Leela would want to be as involved as possible with the kids.  Amy may be the smizmar, but it's still Leela's DNA.  Godmother or aunt sounds like a good description of what her role would be, and I think that she'd be babysitting more than just occasionally.  Kif and Amy would probably appreciate the help.

*spoiler for the game*

actually, if the game factors into the storyline of futurama at all, leela will be dead long before the toad thingies ever crawl out of that swamp

on a side note, the game also explains why fry gets such an inauspicious reading from farnsworth's deathclock

I put your message in spoilers Dumbuket, that way it's easier to not read.

Well seeing as I only have a gamecube and the game is never coming out on it, can someone please tell me why Fry has a small reading on the deathclock? (spoilerised)

I'd imagine this kind of thing happen often for Kif's race, and their culture most likely have a name for Leelas relation to the kids, probably a preset role too. Nothing legally binding, but more a cultural/social aspect. Aunt is probably the term that comes closest in my opinion.

Finally oficial thread for this question. From the start I thought that they could make some way for coming of tadpoles into series with this sort of Leela --Kif and Amy sort of relationship.

This raises an interesting question.  Is Leela the legitimate mother because of her DNA, or is Amy truly the mother because she made Kif go into his "receptive state?"  Frankly, I think Amy's the mother because she was initially responsible for Leela's DNA to enter Kif's body.  I'd say Leela is the godmother, or the biological mother.

I though Kif already explained it in that episode.
