"Careful observations by qualified observers have shown, in fact, that the defining features of the concept of colour are not, and probably cannot be, realised at will, even in the experimental laboratory". i know that colour recognition is gained at an early age and that is purely the way that an individual percieves the world around them. for us to recognise a colour as such we need to be taught by another that an object that is blue, IS blue. so we can only assume that when you were young, your parents told u that something pink was in actual fact red. maybe some of your items of clothing..... shall i start a zoidberg - pink or red thread? (got kind of a ring to it hasn't it??)

Haha, look at the ballbearings on this guy! Well, Flexo, here you are: Here is a picture (much thanks to Paul and his website) of Zoidberg without his shell. Zoidberg, ladies and gentlemen, is pink. His shell, however, is more of a reddish orange, more reddish. So here's an experiment. Put on a red shirt, then some red pants (or trousers, if you prefer). Does your skin turn red? No eh? Didn't think so. So, in conclusion, nay sayers, Zoidberg is pink. Thank you.

We look at our exteriors because we don't have shells, so my fault for relating this to humans and their clothes in the first place. The main thing is, the question asks if Zoidberg is pink or red, and he's pink. The more proper way to state the question would be "Zoidberg's shell: red or pink?"

Nice one Kryten, looking at Amy wearing just her underwear is extremely distracting.

thanks drippyT so what you are saying is that zoidberg, in a way similar to a hermit crab, changes his shell. we even see different colour shells in the episode when he gets rid of the orange/pink/red one and try on new ones such as the white one with the bar code. zoidberg himself is very much PINK PINKERTY PINKY PINK!

Since pink is a lightened form of Red.. you can't really say that that picture proves he is pink. Now i didn't actually bother to click to see the other picture but my point is that you can't prove he is pink by the picture shown. And this is no more long or boring that the original post, and i'd like to think it at least made the same amount of sense... no offense intended to anyone none taken, what with some people being ABLE to take a joke and not getting annoyed about not understanding something.... please could someone remember the name of the episode where zoidberg discards his old shell and needs to BUY and new one and does NOT form it by his skin hardening. could drippy_T or anyone else get me screen grabs of when he trys on other shells? of course he is an alien that doesn't really exist and all of futurama is all made up so he could be anything really and it is all irrelevent

Zoidberg: "Bad news friends. My shell ran!" Now why would he be washing his shell if he was just going to grow another one and discard the old one? SO! One can conclude that underneath the shell, Zoidberg is a pinkish color. Thas muh story and I'm stickin-tuh-it! The thing is though I agree with you, the shopping for shells and the "My shell ran!" thing were just to be funny - and it really doesn't matter what color Zoidberg is, we all still love him.
