Let me put it like this: I can't imagine Fry with any other voice than the one he has. If another voice actor can hit the same voice, I don't mind if they got the part.

Seeing how Billy sound almost exactly like Fry (if he was 40-something), I guess thats just acedemic.

I can imagine Zapp as the late (and fantastic) Phil Hartman. I think we can all agree that Hartman (a good canadian boy) would have been great. We all also know that he tried out for it, but still. I can see that.

Yeah, it really is just Billy's voice pitched a little higher (see Maurice LaMarche discussion in I think Bend Her but it might be some other one from season four about Fry's voice coming from "an honest place" in Billy West).

its irellevant thats its billy west- even if i did the voice youd be used to it so much you couldnt imagine anyone else doing it, thats why this thread is ridiculous, but dont get me wrong, i think billy west is a fantastic voice actor, and hes really why i want to be one, its such a great job

Obviously everyone likes to announce that they don't think anyone could replace Billy West (and I love it too) but I think rule brittannia wanted to start a conversation; so how about any of the Kids in the Hall guys?  Dave Foley or Bruce McCullogh could be alright.

It has been stated before, and I will state it again. Billy West IS Fry, and Fry IS Billy West.

Same with Farnsworth, Zoidberg, and Zapp. Well, maybe not Zapp, because, as PtPA said, Phil Hartman would have done a pretty good job on him.

DiMaggio does a passable Professor and (almost) Zoidberg on the commentaries, but Fry is definitely West's territory.  It is too much his own voice to be anyone else.

Well, hartman was supposed to be the original Zapp, but West is Best.


I think lamarsh would have done a good zoidberg too. I'm only gathering that from the one commentary (sorry peel-ers, I forgot which ep it is) where West, DiMaggio and laMarsh are doing zoidberg (to guess the zoidberg). Plus, the voice acters could have warmed up to the voice. There was some unbeleiveable talent on that show, so given time any one of them could have done it (cept maybe DiMaggio or LaMarr

Say what? Don't get me wrong, I worship the ground the Kids In The Hall walk on, but I couldn't buy any of them as Fry. Actually, maybe Kevin McDonald... but I'd have to hear it before I could make a judgement.
