I'd say that it's a little of both 7 and 8, turning more into 4 later in the series.  5 is also true.

Lesbian possibilities aside, I've always thought of them as sisters, They stick together where 'girls' issues are concerned. Sometimes they get along well, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they don't understand one another, but there's always an underlying respect. Also, it makes for a number of story possibilities.
And so on. Sadly for me, I'm an only child so my opinions are formed by what I see in other families.

Oh, and as for both Leela and Amy wanting Fry: Yeah, right! When the stars burn out, the grass grows red, and the oceans turn to yogurt!
For different reasons both Amy and Leela are light-years away from wanting Fry.

From my interpretation, Leela and Amy are far from hating each other, but they know they are too different to really get on well. So I think Amy likes to remind Leela of this fact by teasing her, since Leela likes to stay rather conservative. If that's the right word?

Hidden passionate love for several reasons:

1) Its clear that Leela fell for Fry long ago, but why didn't she pursue him? Because she was with Amy
2) They obviously don't mind sleeping next to each other naked.
3) It would make great TV.

Option 1 I shall keep for later. Seriously though, I'd go for a mixture of 3, 7 and 8. Leela is jealous of Amy because she's a lot more sucessful with men, meanwhile Amy is threatened by Leela's intelligence, add in the general sibling-like bitchiness and Amy's insensitivity and you've got the basis of a beautiful, although unfortunately platonic, relationship.

I think she might have been just as offended if he had said he had given backrubs to, say, Michelle or Morgan Proctor.  It was just NOT an appropriate time for Fry to bring up an ex-girlfriend.

i agree with Vovat. She was offended because he was talking about a past girlfriend while trying to get into her pants. And she didn't want to admit that she wanted to be miss universe because she didn't want to sound petty and vain.
