IF Futurama did return for another series would Katey Sagal do the voice of Leela gain now that she's working on 8 Simple Rules.

That's a pretty big IF. I'd say don't worry about it. Besides she was working the show and Futurama when they were both on

I read in an interview that Katey Sagal would love to come back to Futurama, even with her other TV commitments.

I can't really see 8 Simple Rules lasting much longer anyway.

Then again, I can't really see Futurama returning either.

Even if it did return, I'm sure it'd only return as long as Katey Sagal did too, and as Gorky said, I'm sure she would. Pity the show probabaly won't...

Well, Billy West would have to return too. If my memory is right, he has had a larger load than Sagal did, what with all his voiceacting and the like.

They all did. Hell, even Phil LaMarr and Dave Herman would be hard to replace.

That's true, but at the same time, filming a live-action show is far more time consuming than doing voiceovers, so I guess they balance out in the end.

I think we should leave the whole "Bring Back futurama or i will kill you" thing, i personaly think that i really whould like to see futurama back, but then we really can't do anything about it, so i think im going to collect the comics and all things futurama and wait for a movie (if that will happen) and keep posting here with me fellow futurama fans  :D

Agreed.  I think a movie is a good deal more likely than the return of the series.

The dad was played by John Ritter.

Katey Sagel would return, because I couldn't picture anyone playing Leela's voice except for a really good Katey Sagel impersonator and she would have to be really, really good.

Futurama wouldn't be as good without Katey Sagel, Billy West, John DiMaggo.... well, without the magority of the voice actors, it just wouldn't be as good.

About what I said earlier about Katey Sagal returning, I think the question is more like would the network that airs her show, 8 Simply Rules allow her to voice-over for a TV show of another network whether if it'll be FOX or cartoonnetwork.  Think about that

Voice acting is easy to schedule because it's very flexible to do. They base the times the actors do the voices around their schedules, not the show's.

8 Simple Rules probably won't be on much longer anyway, without John Ritter.  Think about that.

That's totally irrelevant, because Futurama's ALREADY been axed.  Think about that.

Why wouldn't they? It's not like "Eight Simple Rules..." and Futurama targets the same audience. Plus they allowed her to be on "Imagine That" (another, albeit short-lived tv-series from 2002).

Yeah, as long as she isn't contractually obligated to ABC, there wouldn't be a problem as far as I can see.

Wait a minute, the thread title is "IF Futurama were to return...".  Guess I'm caught out on a technicality.  Sorry David A.

Considering that FOX is doing this so called live action movie about some guy waking up in the year 3000 I doubt that they will produce the movie.

And I hate to say it but Futurama will probably never be made into a movie either. Futurama is dead and its staying that way, we're just it's starving mutant babies, crowding around their mother's corpse to feed.

I think the best thing you can do to get Futurama back is to buy the DVDs. It worked for Family Guy, people bought the DVDs left and right, ratings were incredible on Adult Swim, and now Family Guy's coming back for a fourth season! Doesn't that kick ass? So buy Futurama DVDs, keep it on your TV when it airs, and who knows. I'm sure stranger things have happened.

It could become a movie. Groening and Cohen wanted to do a trilogy of movies, all they need is the green-light from FOX, and DVD sales should make that green-light a reality soon.

For once I'll be diplomatic, and deem that viewpoint "optimistic".  Nothing that FOX have done during the past two years have suggested that they're going to green-light a movie.

Surely FOX must be aware about the feelings the vast legions of fans has for Futurama? They should know that they COULD bring it back in either TV or film format and still get money from us.
