After the last episode, we can only dream where they might have chosen to go on their first date.  Try and guess based on how romantic, but also where we as viewers would get a cheap laugh.

I've listed some obvious places and also places they've went on dates in dreams and when they were kids from TMLH and places I just made up.

Dinner at Elzars, then a movie and end the evening with watching the sun rise (or set, depending on the exact spot) on Europa.

I chose Venus. It was very pretty there.

Although i think it'd be neat if Hermes took everone to Jamaica and Fry and Leela wound up spending unexpected alone time together which turns into a date before either of them even realizes it. *sigh* Sooo romantic!

I was thinking pretty much along the same lines.  But could Fry afford dinner at Elzar's?

Probably not, but I'm sure Amy is willing to lend him a few thousand dollar.

Screw Elzars, he should just make her some chocolate fondue. You can't go wrong with chocolate fondue!

I also think that Venus looked like a romantic place to have a first date.

Elzar's, followed by somewhere more romantic, like the edge of the universe or somewhere...

Elzars. Most dates seem to work there.

I vote Venus, Leela seemed to really enjoy their waltz there in "The Sting", though that could just be because she missed Fry.

Hmmm, Waltz for Venus...  Why does that sound so familiar?   wink

Anyway, it doesn't matter where they go; every day with Leela is like two soup Tuesday.

The Beach: They go to the beach for their first ever date. Fry lays out the panic whereas Leela watches some fireworks go off. After they finshed their picnic, they haddle close together, turn towards the sea, to watch the sun go down together.

I have to say Elzar's, basically because we would get a laugh or two, but it could also be romantic.

I've reconsidered, forget Elzar's. It's too expensive for either of them. Instead they should go to O'Zorgnax, then a movie and then watching the sun set on Europa. The important part here is Europa.

On their first date? At least let them have a romantic night out first. This isn't Amy we're talking about.  wink

Fry: "Oh God! If you say that one more time, I'm going to give you a hard time about it."

I just said Amy didn't seem to be the romantic type, at least before she met Kif.

She wanted to go on a picnic with Fry and spit watermelon seeds at Jupiter.  Sounds pretty romantic to me.

But then Fry had to screw it up and invite Zoidberg along.

The whole idea of Fry dumping Amy makes me cringe.  It's the stupidest thing that Fry has ever done, hands down.

Well, except for the whole sleeping with his grandmother thing.

Fry dumped Amy, because in his heart he loved Leela.  Leela and Fry are soulmates.  Fry's to dumb to figure that out on his own, but he knows he loves Leela.
Though the whole Fry/Amy was one of my favorite things about Futurama.

If that was why he dumped Amy, I wouldn't have had a problem with it; but that's not what happened.

Fry says that he dumped Amy because Amy was spending too much time with him and that made him feel uncomfortable.  AT the end of the episode, Leela tells Fry that she enjoys hanging out with him, yet Fry doesn't feel uncomfortable about it.  That is telling he that in Fry's heart, he secretly loves Leela.

I'm sure that he does, but that isn't why he dumped Amy.  It just means that if he had been dating Leela, he probably wouldn't have dumped her for the same stupid reason that he dumped Amy.

Also, if you wanna talk about the end of the episode, what about that last scene with Amy and Fry?  It sure seemed to me like Fry was feeling some regret about dumping Amy.  If he had dumped her because of Leela, why would he regret his decision?

He was worried that he might've hurt Amy's feelings.  And when Amy wasn't that hurt, he showed more of a sign of relief that Amy wasn't hurt rather than regret.  His love for Leela might not have been the real reason for him dumping Amy, but I'm sure it was a factor.

Also his look of regret was because he missed having breasts when his head was on Amy.
