How come the Asylum let him take his knife into his cell? How can anyone mess up stabbing (may be that was why he needed to practice)? On the whole i thnk that the hospital staff in the 'Insane In the Mainframe' episode was suffering from stupiditis or they didn't how knives would hurt robots.

knives (and sharpened sticks by the way) don't seem to hurt robots as bad as humans, it seems.

not a problem for inmates since most of them are made of shards of razor sharp metal anyway. unless of course they threw a human in that loony bin...

I don't think they "let" him in there with it, maybe he had it hidden somewhere....

And practice makes perfect.... :p

Mwahahahahahaha  :evillaugh:

Maybe the staff doesn't care. Who is he going to stab (besides Fry)? Remember in Bender Gets Made, the Robot Mafia shoot up a robot, who seems totally unaffected by it?

Didn't the same robot that was shot by the mafia get stabbed by Roberto later, on Crimes of the Hot, with no ill effect?  I guess they allowed Roberto to have his knife because it couldn't do any damage worse than that done by robots using their own bodies (Bender cutting wood with his hand comes to mind).

Yeah, it's the same robot.  Peter Avanzino comments on it in the commentary for Bender Gets Made.

Peter Avanzino: "I think we cycled those guns you gave us about six times."
DXC: You didn't underplay that moment, I have to agree."
Peter Avanzino: In season four I use that guy getting stabbed in a riot.  Just getting stabbed repeatedly in a riot."

Or something to that general effect.

Roberto are already under a lot of stress, imagine what taking his beloved knife away would do to his fragile psyché. Those doctors are supposed to cure him, not destroy him, so ofcourse they let him keep the knife.

Maybe the knife was an accesory that came with the packege. Like when you get Donatello's quarterstaff with the action figure, or that tiny pencil that comes with most PDAs...

He could have just hidden it somewhere in his chest cavity. After all, it's not like they could of just used a metal detecter or something to find it because Roberto himself is made of metal.

*Edit* 666th post    :evillaugh:

*Edit again* Upon further inspection, they did have to go through an x-ray machine when being admitted... so I don't know.

I think he's a robbin' and stabbin' unit. Why else would he be designed with the built-on "Beagle Boys" mask?

He even have the same tenacity like them.

Roberto robs the same bank over and over.

The Beagle Boys try to rob Scrooge McDuck over and over.

He's not always crap at stabbing. He's pretty good at it in his walk-on in "Crimes of the Hot."
