Hi there,
I'm a big futurama-fan (but not an expert about it  ;) ). But let's come to the topic: I'm scout leader in Switzerland. Here the kids are named during their scout career in kind of a unique ritual, where as the name is according to their character, behaviour, abilities, etc. The ritual itself is called "Taufe" (which would be translated as "baptism", but it's not religion related at all) and usually includes several (mostly a bit unpleasent) tasks that should be related at least partially a bit to the name that will be given to the kid after the ritual.
As you surely already guessed if you read all since here, we (the scout leaders) now decided to name someone "Zoidberg" in our scout group, because his behaviour really remembers us off the all-beloved lobsteralien in Futurama: He likes to eat a lot, he always tries to do things he has no idea of (as Zoidberg does in trying to be a human doctor), he behaves sometimes quiet strange, he's not really liked by others and has no idea why and even more...I just can tell that the name really would fit in my opinion.
As we are still searching for some tasks for the ritual, I had to idea to ask some Futurama experts here (you!  ;)), what they could think of good tasks for. Don't shame of posting any ideas, it's my decission if they can be done or not. Some ideas I already had would be to color him red with Ketchup or sth like that, let him bite a ballon filled with liquid egg (for giving him that kind of "beard"...I don't know what it's called), let him do a some sort of crab dance (as in "Why Must I be a Crustacean in Love?" ), eating weird things and a session of asking some human anatomic questions and let him do sth (as crawling in mud) if the answer is false (BTW: The kids' eyes are usually covered by a cloth during the ritual, so it won't see anything). I'm waiting for you ideas  :evillaugh: ...
