We all know that Scruffy is a janitor. But what do you think happened in his past that made him to come out as a janitor? Discuss!

Scruffy's gay?
Or bisexual?
Well, maybe that'll explain his new pink hairstyle.

Well we know he has Prison experience. So knowing that I'd extrapolate that....

He used to be a secret ops killing machine for the government of earth. But after a while even your best start slipping. He made some mistakes, left a little evidence behind and had to be removed from the program. Following his termination he moved on to mercinary work like Mr. T in the A-Team. Untill his questionably Illegal practices landed him in jail untill about 5 years ago. Given that when a secret agency fires you and doesn't kill you they still want to use you. He was sleeper programed for possable reactivation and sent off as a janitor so he could remain inconspicuous and be in a ready position to react instantly should his sleeper programing be activated.

Or something.

Perhaps, and I've voiced this opinion before. He's a secret undercover monk from an ancient and secret order. (This bit's new) sworn to uphold justice and all we hold dear.

I think that the uncercover agent theory fits him the best. I think that maybe when he was young, he was kinda like James Bond or something......i dunno......

Or maybe he just failed in school, has no great expectations on himself and is to lazy to land any better job where you don't need to work and read porn all day.

Or maybe he just likes being a janitor.

He's a bit like the garbage man in Dilbert.

Dogbert: "I understand you're the world's smartest man. I just wondered why you choose to be a garbage man."

What about the jarnitor in The Simpsons? Willy. Doesn't he has the same way to speak like Scruffy? I'm not sure, I just know German dubbed Simpsons.
Also Scruffy seems to be Scottish as Willy, so maybe that way to talk is a running Scottland gag.

Nope. Scruffy has a slightly gravely gruff mid-low american voice (I think John D.). Where as Willy has a mid tone Scottish Burr (Dan Casteleneta). It's just the dub. But at least it's not as bad as the Spanish Dub is suposed to be.

But if Scruffy is on the PE payroll, why does he appear to be doing Janitorous tasks for others?  In many episodes you see him not a part of the crew and doing stage-work or something.

Well, every other job Scruffy is shown doing is a really crappy job anyway. He's just some guy with a small vocabulary who really only "works" for the money, which he uses to buy porn. The reason we rarely see him in the PE office is because he rarely ever shows up - he's either busy reading porn, or doing some other crappy job so he can make money to BUY porn.  :)

I think scruffy just took the janitor job so he could say "I'm on a break." and use that as an excuse to read porn and eat crips (potato chips to all u americans)

What the fuck? When is scruffy ever said to be scottish????? And it definately isnt a running scottish joke. The reasons for him saying scruffy is

1. Its funny to speak in the 3rd person. dont ask me why, it just is

2. Scruffy was brought in a little while after wasnt he? people always say theyve never seen him before. He says scruffy so the viewers know who he is if theyve never seen him before..........sheesh
