Your favourite Alien Raceokay, let me see ... Mutantsare mutants and not aliens. I mean I think to remember that aliens is the English word for "species from another planet" or something like this. Well, I'm pretty sure it is this way. mermaidsare simply deep-sea mutants. Also not aliens. I think the Neptunians and Morbo's species would fit better in that list. Or the Neptunians and "other species". But the list can't be changed. So, who should I vote for? Originally posted by Tweek: Mutants: afterall the lovely Leela is a mutant Amen brother. Leela

In it's origin "alien" simply means "stranger" or "diffrent from the norm". Usually describing foreigners. If you remember Stings "Englishman in New York" the man in the song described himself as "a legal alien". It's just modern sci-fi that have made the word instantly associated with little green men. In that light mutants are as much alien to the New New Yorkers as Balls and Omicronians.

Good point, but I think that generally the word alien is associated with beings from other planets, certainly in terms of Futurama, because otherwise the lines get sort of fuzzy.

You wish Leela didn't exist?
::tries to comprehend such a situation, fails::
Kidding aside: I'm not exactly thrilled about Leela's mom, her father seems okay though. The rest of the mutants are great, particular the one-legged one.

No, its not that. I would have just prefered her to be an alien. Her being a mutant is weird.

But thats why futurama is so great. All through series 1-3 the audiance assumed Leela (see, I can spell it) was an alien. It was just a great twist to find out she was a mutant. I suppose it was just a bit more exciting to find Leela was from Earth all along. The Robots are also a cool race, especially when they rise up in the "Mothers Day" ep. I love that Mothers Day card.

I guess they mean "Any race other than human" And the robots are easily the most dangerous. They control everything.
