Like a lot of people on here, I think that Leela is a really wonderful person, because even though she's had a pretty rough life, she's still trying to do the best that she can.  I think that if things had just gone a little different for her, then she would have probably been together with Fry before the end of their third year together.  However, from reading about last night's episode, it seems like she's trying to enjoy her life more, and not letting her fears control her so much.    :)

Who made you and why?

You're hitting new lows everyday you slimey little fuck, I wouldn't mind if you expressed intelligent views that opposed mine, and it's not like I'm Leela-obsessed but sweet Jesus, a filler character? I know crack addicts who make more sense than you, she's been there since the start, has a definate history, a seperate major plot-line and is the love interest of the main character.

For the love of God, please just give me the power of a mod, just for an hour, couple of minutes, cast it upon my lowly soul for however long it takes to ban someone for life and erase all trace of their existance on the board.

So I do love her.

Hypno toad--have you seen more than one episode of futurama? You've apparently seen the hypno toad episode--what others, pray tell?

Nope, the Hypno Toad ep is the only one.  The sound wasn't on, but he thinks he got the gist.

Ah, Turonga Leela,
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways
I love thee to the depths and times and height
The Planet Express Ship can fly, when delivering by night
To the ends of Universe A, deepest space.
I love thee Leela to the level of Fry’s
Most quiet need, a can of Slurm
I love thee freely, as Robots strive for booze
I love thee purely, as they turn to Mom.
I love thee with the passion I put to use
In my collection of comics, and with my VCR’s tape.
I love thee with the love I seemed to lose
With preempted episodes. --I love thee with my respiration,
Smiles, tears, and All My Circuits. --And if FOX so choose,
I shall but love thee better after cancellation.

*sob* That was beautiful!  Let me try.

"Roses are red,
Violets are purple,
And so is Leela's hair."

...my poetry needs some work.

Welcome to peel, j w wimpy.  Loved that poem, it's based on a sonnet by Shakespere, right?  Not sure.

Toad, Im not a guy, but Leela looks better than Amy, even with the eye.  Amy is ugly- her hair sucks!  She is a good character, thou.

Sheesh! Chill, will you? The poem was meant to be humorous. It so happened I was doing a Google search on Browning guns, and stumbled upon the classic love poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The ode to Leela came in a flash, I wrote it as fast as I could type it, which admittedly is not too speedy...

Huh?

Oh.  Thought El Zilcho was talking about me for a second.  Sorry.

Anyway, long as I'm here, may as well share my thought on Leela.  And that thought is that she is, IMO, the strongest female character on TV today.  Although, being male, I wouldn't want to be quoted on that, lest anyone disagree.  (Just sit back and be non-confrontational...)

Oh, I forgot to mention the poem? How silly of drunken little me. It was hillarious, and at the same time touching. I'd say I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but that's probably just... eh, never mind.

Oh, I'm just pointing it out. Nothing wrong with having deep emotions for a fictional character. In fact, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I...
I'll just shut up and go write my fanfic now. And rewrite it in the morning, when I'm sober.

Much as I'd hate to side with this slimey little fuck I'm gonna have to on this one, I too have a thing for asians and Amy just reminds me to much of Blackie Chin of Miss Dynamite fame to pass up on.

On another topic, Toad that pun sucked and we all knew it was intended so shut your mouth or I'll crack your skull open and spit in it.

There seems to be some confusion over what the poem is based on. The original can be found here:

Why is Leela great? Becuase of all the emotional depth and character development... bla bla bla allready mentioned.
But also becuase of her um, physical assets, she's round in all the right places. As John Dimagio so elequently put it on the Season 3 DVD commentries,
"She Got The Fire Down Below!"

afraid i have to agree with shitface, amy is hotter than leela for non-perverted reasons stated above.

also, toad, it's called kazaa! get up to date DUMBASS!!!!

like i said before, i like leela because she is like a puzzle, one of those 3-d puzzles that you have to spend 72 hours strait working on only to pass out and crush it...but that's besides the point.

I do want to bed Leela     and if given the chance I would. But she is a cartoon and I feel sorry     for people who don't fancy a real person aswell.Especially if they are an adult or a teenager

I do love Leela for her massive tits and her great figure also her beutiful eye.

She's more of a parody mocking that very popular myth. She's a collection of various "hard core" personalities of women in sci-fi.
