Anyone know the name of the chicken lawyer from "Insane in the mainframe", "Branigan Begin again" and other episodes?

Basically, everyone just calls him "The Hyperchicken" or "The Chicken Lawyer". He doesn't have a real name. Kinda like Comic Book Guy or Bumblebee Man, or Squeaky-Voiced Teen...

How did we find out that his name was the Hyperchicken? Hell, how did we find out Linda's, Surly, URL or Hattie's name before the audio commentaries came out?

I'm not sure about the others, but we found out about URL before the commentaries, on the wind up toy of him that came out  :)

Linda's name was mentioned in A Taste of Freedom, and I'm pretty sure before that as well. Also, I think I remember hearing someone refer to the lawyer as the Hyperchicken. The others, I'm not sure about.

The lawyer said it himself in the episode "Brannigan Begin Again".

"Your Honor. I'm just a simple hyperchicken from a backwood asteroid, but if it pleases the court I reckon I'll call the entire jury."

We just refered to him as the hyperchicken lawyer ever since.

Who's Surly?

One, I'd say it's Sal, who's name we know because they say it in the episode he's introduced in, the one where Fry's head is attached to Amy's body. (wait, my mistake, he was originally in 'The Series Has Landed' and probably in other eps before that valentines one, ah to hell with it.)

Secondly, correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to recall that he didn't call himself a hyperchicken, he said "half a chicken" me thinks, the hyperchicken has just been mentioned before, not connected to the lawyer.

I'm starting to get self esteem issues from knowing all this useless technical crap, I feel dirty, like a trekkie. I just have a good memory I swear!

It's pretty certain it's hyper-chicken. Billy West mentions it on the commentary track for "Brannigan, Begin Again".

Makes more sense - a hyper-evolved (in a sense) chicken.

The sub-titles to "Brannigan Begin Again" say hyper-chicken as well. The desgin is based on an early Kif-design.

From the "A Tale Of Two Santas" audio commentary:

Cohen: "The name of that character in the script was simply "Hyperchicken"."

I just call him Hyper Chicken!  It would be funny if he were called 'Chicklock' as in Matlock!

Is that really his name, because he says in the trial that he is just a simple hyper chicken(not sure what episode). So if that is what he is, how is it his name?

Comic Book Guy's name is actually Jeff Albertson.

You're almost right. He's called Matcluck in a deleted scene from ITWGY.

In the commentary for A Tale of Two Santas, Cohen states that in the script his name is Hyper chicken.  :D
