Why does so many of you all hate Zoidberg

I noticed in other threads on this board, people say "I hate zoidberg" or I wish Zoidberg would die!  Whats wrong with you people? Zoidberg rules! heh heh. I Think he is a important part of Futurama, He always a funny distraction to the main plot of episode. And I think he has some funny one-liners in the series. Spread Zoidberg love not HATE!

Some people don't like him because he tends to go overboard with the comic relief at times but the big part is he's sort of pathetic. Characters who purposly act pathetic don't get treated well for some reason, personally he's one of my favorite characters but many disagree. However, the most hated character on Futurama must be Cubert. He was a bad idea in my opinion.

I think that Zoidberg somtimes offers better comic relief than Fry or Bender. I like his charactor.

I love Zoidy, I had always liked him from the beginning. But his line "It's toe tappingly tragic" from Bendin' In The Wind cemented him as my big favorite character.

Zoidberg was once one of my favorite characters, but lately, in season 5, it just seems like they have been giving him teh lamest jokes they can find, like it's almost supposed to be funny that he's not funny or something.  He was all right in Teenage Mutant Leela Hurdles, but I didn't really like A Taste of Freedom, and some of his lines like from "Crimes of the Hot" just seem to be falling flat.  I still love "old school" Zoidberg, but I have to hope he'll get better in the remaining few episodes.

Zoidberd is great, I agree. I just crack up when I see his pet slinky burst into flames, and he into tears.....he's a riot.

I think Zoidberg is cool. I must admit that I didn't like him as much as the rest of the Planet Express crew at first, but as his character developed, the more liked him, and now I think he's essential, and really funny too

I still haven't developed a taste for Bender yet.  I'm a little ashamed to admit it 'cuz it make me feel like I'm not a fan of the show but I kind of have to force myself to like Bender.

Zoidberg is my favorite character on the whole show, the only problem with him is that he works best in small doses, "Why Must I Be A Crustacean In Love" was excellent but "That's Lobstertainment" was  a disaster. Not that he doesn't work in large doses, but it must be hard to write him like that.

"Roswell That Ends Well" is Zoidberg in top form, watch that episode and try not to love him. "We're going to have to perform an old fashioned alien autopsy." *takes out saw* "HOORAY!"

It's only the sexually-depraved shippers who hate Zoidy. But then again, they hate anything humourous being included in the dramatic soap opera that is Futurama...

The only time I felt Zoidberg took a joke too far was in "Where The Buggalo Roam". The mooching thing was drawn out too much, although the pay-off was great "Money don't make good people, no siree!" For the other episodes, he's golden.

Zoidy is a great character. People always label Bender as the break-out character, or the quinsential Futurama. I think Zoidy is equally strong in that area.  Afterall, what character could make quackery and malpratice hillarious?

"I bet I've killed more patients than he's ever treated!"
"What? My mother was a saint! Get out!"  (Best character intro ever.)
"You still have Zoidberg. YOU ALL STILL HAVE ZOIDBERG!"
"You don't want to end up old and lonely LIKE ZOIDBERG! *cries* You where saying?"

You gotta love a character like that.

...umm...no. Shippers love the comedy. We just want a little romance mixed in. We want the happy median not just one extreme or the other.

Well i think that what makes us laugh about zoidy is that he is so pathetic for example:
in PYHOMS in the part that bemder says that he is so poor and desperately lonely is funny, or in How HermesRHGB where he says "she is compromisind my friendship with her".

Zoidy is great.  He gets a great number of one liners and punchlines on the show.  He is a real comedic vehicle for Futurama.

I was never a big fan of Zoidberg, and that's basically the reason.  Zoidberg was brilliant in Roswell That Ends Well and Why Must I Be a Crustation in Love.  But other than that, I never really connected with him.  I just don't think he's all that funny, except in the aforementioned episodes.  But that's just me.

Zoidberg rules, his character is hillarious. I love it when they're in Fry's body and he comes riding in on a sperm. "You'll never guess where I've been!"

Zoidy's persona developed from a crappy doctor to an attention-craving loner. I liked the way he changed. And he's probably the most goofy one in the crew.
