Hello All,
A question for my fellow Futurama addicts:
What do you think is the most compelling relationship in Futurama?
I find the Fry & Leela 'thang' to be the most compelling relationship, but not to the exclusion of the rest.
Howz about;
Fry & Bender
Leela & Amy
Fry & Amy
Others?

Let's hear it!

PS. I intentionally did not make this a poll question, 'cuz I didn't want to omit one or another relationship.

The Fry-Leela relationship seems to be the most important.

I think we had this thread before.

Ok I think Amy and Kif are really sweet with each other and Bender and Fry and just perfect as buddies only

I like the whole Hermes - Zoidberg relationship.  That much hate means there's lots of emotion boiling just beneath the surface.

The professor and Mom make a great couple as well.

It's also interesting, because so far there hasn't been an explanation why they can't stand each other.

Now that it's been brought up, I'm curious too as why Hermes tends to rip on Zoidberg a lot. Maybe it's because Jamacians eat seafood, and Hermes is prejudiced?  :p

I always thought that a good chunk of that was covered in "How Hermes . . ." when Hermes swears revenge on Zoidberg for sending him to the forced labor camp.

Besides, 10 years is a long time to develop animosities.

Fry and Edna.

I'm one Juliet's side when she said, "Bender and Fry are only good as friends only !" Because they are. Also I think Fry and Leela should be with each other!

As a couple, I'd say Amy & Kif, by a longshot. They're just so cute, and it give both Amy and Kif's character a lot of depth and adds a whole new dimension to them (no pun intended).

As a comedy duo, Kif & Zapp. Just look at the great energy and ping-pong action when these two are together on the screen. Comedy gold.

Hello All,
Point of clarification; I did not limit these relationships to romantic ones (although they are a lot of fun to watch).
I thought the Fry & Bender relationship was well developed in 'I Roommate'.
I'd like to see the Hermes/Zoidberg thing explained. Why the animosity? How'd it start? Why does Hermes seem to have stronger (negative) feelings for Dr. Z than the other way 'round?
Fry & Amy. They are so over, but ripe for developing a peer to peer friendship.
Fry & Farnsworth. They are blood kin.
Kif & Zapp. Ah, the Futurama universe's favorite underdog, inextricably shackled to the guy you love to hate: Mr. 'Tall, dark, & loathsome'.
Leela & Amy. Yeah, yeah. So I mentioned it before. Sue me. This is, IMO, the single most underdeveloped dynamic in the whole damn show. This could become a 'Thelma & Louise' kind of thing, a 'sibling rivalry' type of thing, or both in a love-hate arrangement.

<Zoidberg>
More! MORE!
</Zoidberg>

*sigh* I'll shut up now... ;^)

I like Fry and Bender's relationship the best 'cos they're total best pals, just like me and my best friend, Kay.  When together, we act just like them, minus the booze.

They've never explained why Hermes hates Zoidbery, and I am more than a little interested. I would've loved to have seen a future episode in which they explain why Hermes hates him so much. I can see it now...

Zoidberg: Why do you hate me so much, Hermes?
Hermes: Because you ate my first born child, mon!
Zoidberg: I thought he was some sort of Space Potatoe!

Oh, wait, I can't see it, thank you very much, FOX!

I would have to say Leela-Fry, then Amy-Kiff a close second. I went for both the romantic relationships, becuase romatic relationships in stories seem to interest me.
probly becuas I've never been in one...

I'm going to agree with Nixorbo on the Zoidberg/Hermes relationship.  I would be pretty upset too if Zoidberg mislead me, even if accidental, to do such a thing.

Leela and Amy interest me - there seems to be a division based on Amy's looks and Leela's low self-esteem. "Maybe it's only the cute ones!" for instance. I'd like to see that relationship developed more. And on that subject, a question for girls: do looks matter among friends in your experience?

Fry and Leela are the classic "will-they-won't-they", so although they interest me, I prefer Amy and Kif. I agree with Teral, it suggests there is a lot more to them than we first thought.

I'd like to have seen that, but also for their relationship last a little longer than half of an episode.

I'd be willing to take whatever I could get.  There's barely any Amy/Fry interaction after "PYHOMS" at all.
