That Guy:

The toast of wallstreet, a genuine 80's dollar jockey. He was diagnosed with terminal bonitis and was unable to get a cure for his horrible/hilarious disease because he sold off the company who was close to curing it. He briefly became CEO of Planet Express, elected by one vote. He attempted to sell the company to Mom's Friendly Delivery Company but his bonitis killed him in the middle of the sale. Company stock plummeted and Fry refused to sell the company.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here ... so please be nice to me * smile * - A little question: How to use Smileys in a text?
... but now, about "That Guy": He's cool of course. Maybe ... a little bit to much cool, (in  my  opinion). But after all, he has a good taste. Nah, I don't mean his yellow tie. I mean the music he likes: Safety Dance by Men without Hats. A really cool 80s song (I heard it in that episode, run to the next record-shop and bought it ... yeah!)
* happy to be here at PEEL*

Welcome to PEEL Daniela  :)

To do the smilies don't use the "quick post", press "reply" and click on the smiley you want, the code will be added automatically, soon you'll learn the codes so will be able to use them in "quick post" as well  :D

Ehhh, That Guy was okay...but he wasn't great. I wouldn't want him back for another episode.

Heh. I could see him being brought up in a later episode, quoting that he made some secret business deal or something and this presents a problem to PE crew... with hilarity insueing.

Aside from his gruesome and visable death, I think that'd make perfect sense.

I think Chump mean some of the main cast could make a casual remark about a dire situation for PE originating from That Guy's quick eighties style management. Or maybe a flashback.

That guy selling the PE ship, and then leasing it back again. Only later do they discover that the company that bought the ship was owned by the robot mafia, and now they try to force PE to ship some illegal stuff, using their ownership of the PE ship as leverage.

Donbot: "We gave your former CEO an offer he could refuse, but he took it anyway. What was his name, he kept humming like this *hums the Safety Dance*, ah yes Mr.."
Fry: (Interupting Donbot) "Ohh, that guy!!"

"We can dance"   :)  (Men without Hats)
Has one of you ever seen the movie "Wallstreet"? I don't know the movie, but I heard one of the main-character of this 80s movie looks exactly like "That Guy" (except of that yellow tie   :D   )
I searched with Google for a picture and ... yes: That Guy is from "Wall Street".

:)  "we can act like we come from out of this world, leave the real one far behind"   :D  (Men without Hats)

"That Guy" is the Futurama-version of Michael Douglas in "Wall Street" (1987)

I don't know this Trivia, but you're right.
On the site "FOx 59! Welcome the Fox network" I found the following episode review: (...) Meanwhile, at a Cryogenic Support meeting, Fry meets Steve Castle, a Wall Street power player from the 1980’s. (...)
Accordong to the site's name this information is "blessed" by the well known FOX-exes. So, That Guy is Steve Castle and Steve Castle is That Guy ...   :D
Here you can find this FOX59-site: http://fox59.trb.com/entertainment/foxnetwork/stv-futurama-pkgepisodes.special

That's hardly a qualifier for reliable information. Last time I checked FOX execs couldn't tell the difference between Futurama and a dead crab.  :D

In actual news, some gems from FOX59:

Quote
About "Roswell That Ends Well"
As the ship enters a black hole, Fry puts metal into the ships microwave
If by "entering a black hole" they mean "observe a super nova" they're spot on.

Quote
About "Leela's Homeworld":
The professor helps Fry to translate the note, but they discover that the note was written in a fake language on recycled toilet paper.
Uhhmm, no. Leela's mother told them the language was fake, the machine couldn't translate it.

Quote
About "Where The Buggalo Roams":
Amy's parents plan to break up Amy and Kif, so they hold a Bar-B-Q at their Buggalo ranch on Mars and invite all the eligible bachelors........
Zapp leads the gang to the Martian Reservation as a stray Buggalo, named Betsy who befriended Kif, follows them.
Did they even watch this episode?

Quote
About "Futurestock":
To prevent the demise of Planet Express, Fry tries to expose Castle and re-elect the Professor as the CEO.
No, his plan was to plead with That Guy, and ask him to save PE as a favor to Fry.

Quote
About "A Leela Of Her Own":
Later on it is revealed that the reason that Leela attracted such a following is because she is the worst blernsball player in history, so she quickly puts an end to her blernsball career.
No, she decides to fight, to not become the worst blernsball player of all time.

Sidenote: FOX59 say the NNY Met's owner is named Nelson Doubledeal.

It's possible FOX59 have access to the scripts, or early drafts, and so could be right about That Guy and the NNY Mets/URFL owner. In the light of those errors I remain sceptical. Besides this is FOX we're talking about.

Maybe Fry could go to a planet which plays people's history over and over again, he see's that guy just before he die's, and takes him to planet express to give him the antidote.

Is your lesson that I should start sentences and names with capital letters?
If so, it should actually be "That Guy", being that is the characters name.

Since you're giving me tpying tips, I have a few for you, Nurd.
Notice that after a period or a comma is used in a sentence by most people, usually a space follows.
And just because a word is a plural, does not mean it needs to have an apostrophe before the 's'.

I hope that the fact I have typed this post up using capital letters in the appropriate places has helped, and apoligize for any confusion in the past.
I don't want this insulting eachother thing to happen reguarly, so I promise I wont respond to you anymore.
