Zapp is actually a hand puppet made by Kif so he can get away with saying all the horrible things he thinks (along with the occassional affair on Amy). The sighs are all part of his high-concept ventriloquism act and no one other than Scruffy has caught on to it.

Leela's full name may be derived from the symphony "Turangalila" by Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turangalila

I can never tell when you're sarcastic....
Anyway, Hermes was originally going to be called Dexter.
Nibbler reminds me of the aliens from Toy Story in his general appearance. Anyone else think so?

Hmm..I see what you mean, especially when Nibbler has on his Space Suit. I'm sure it was unintentional, though.

Well, I'm sure they wanted Nibbler to have typical alien antenna (or whatever it is), so it's no wonder he reminds other aliens with that common characteristic.

Antananjuat and Fufu, the Eskimos who assist Fry with capturing Leelu in Bender's Big Score, live until at least 105105.

Either that or the animators were a little bit lazy and re-used the character models for "The Late Philip J. Fry". :p
