I remembered that a few months back, Svip asked me from where the name of a minor character of Futurama came from. I'm talking about the other Hobo from the episode "The 30% Iron Chef", friend of Gus (Gus is on the right):

His name is Dandy Jim, but it is not mentioned neither in the episode, nor in the commentaries. His name is inside the 4th DVD of Season 3... if you look at the Special Features > Still Gallery, you'll find see the name at the bottom of the character. This info was found originally by TheFightingMongooses that created a fanart of both hobos.

Anyway, any other (minor) character with an unknown name that could actually have a name? (like That Guy = Steve Castle)

Not quite a minor character BUT I recently found out Morbo's co-anchor Linda's last name is 'Van Schoonhoven'. I guess now we know why they never say it out loud!

It was from a deleted scene, so basically cut for time, I suspect.

As for JavieR; much appreciated!  I am sorry I did not see this thread earlier.  I have already created his article:  http://theinfosphere.org/Dandy_Jim

I remembered it from a storyboard animatic but I'm very often wrong about most things.

Well yes, they were not fully animated (and coloured), but they did have voice acting:  http://theinfosphere.org/List_of_deleted_scenes#Into_the_Wild_Green_Yonder

Like I said, I'm very often wrong about most things. However I think it is an hilarious last name, good on ya writers.

Not really a character with unknown name but a character that never happened:

Eddie Farnsworth: Fry supposes that he must have married his sister(!).

These two are in the record script of 1ACV01 that I got here but they were cut at a later stage. Don't think this trivia tidbit has ever been mentioned on the interwebs.

So is Eddie Farnsworth in the future? Is she the wife of the Professor? You can't leave us hanging like this, mArc. Answers are demanded!

I meant to say: Eddie must have married Fry's sister (sometime after Fry "left" the year 2000).

I heard somewhere that Fry was originally going to have a sister.  Wonder what she would've been like?  Would she have been older and younger?  Also, we never learned the names of those workers who work for Sal.
